DAMN Indiana Fever Coach Austin Kelly and Kelsey Mitchell SAID THE UNTHINKABLE about Caitlin Clark
DAMN Indiana Fever Coach Austin Kelly and Kelsey Mitchell SAID THE UNTHINKABLE about Caitlin Clark

All right. So, it looks like it’s that time. It’s that time. Everybody’s locked in, ready to go. This is where it counts right here. Everything on the line. Playoff seating on the line. And then getting into the playoffs and winning and surviving is mandatory. Indiana Fever Coach Austin Kelly has some things to say about Caitlyn Clark, how they plan to work her back in.
No, y’all need to be working around her. That’s what y’all need to be doing. all of the this hub thing. Y’all trying to make it Kelsey MV and VP. Shout out to Kelsey. We gonna get into what Kelsey had to say about Caitlyn as well. Uh, but Austin Kelly has some things to say about Caitlyn Clark’s return. Um, and we have to get into all of it.
Welcome to Keep the Vision. Make sure you like, comment, subscribe, share the channel, hit the bell notification, hype the video. That’d be greatly appreciated. Let’s get right into things. Now, we all know we don’t trust or at least I’ll speak for me. I don’t trust nobody on this damn coaching staff.
Outside of Rob Doer, the the trainer and the other little trainer dude that came with them, but he can go too. Outside of Rob Doa, I don’t really care for nobody. Uh I don’t really trust Austin Kelly. No disrespect. I don’t think I haven’t seen you do anything, but you too close to Stephanie White. I’m sorry. I’m sorry, man.
Guilty by association. I’m sorry. I’m sorry. Brienne January absolutely out on her. Um, it just is what it is. We got to get into what he had to say about Caitlyn Clark’s return because th this is it. This the final stretch run. It’s go time. >> And just with Caitlyn coming back this week, you guys have a plan for just inserting them into prep.
>> Yeah, I mean it it’ll kind of, you know, they’ll get the they’re actually back in the country now. They’ll get they’ll get today off, do some uh recovery work, and then they’ll be in practice. You know, not not sure how much of that that they’ll see. Um, you know, like I like I said before, like they they’ll be ready to go.
You know, they can they can pick up stuff observing. Uh we’ll work them back in to make sure that they’re they’re ready to go, but uh you know, we’re we’re ready to get them back. We’re ready to get back rolling. You know, we got four left before >> Okay, so Kaitlin Clark is back. They got today off. They’ll be doing like some recovery stuff tomorrow.
Probably won’t be practicing. Uh more so just observing, which I think is smart. I think it’s smart. They they played recently. Long travel from Germany back. You still got to travel to Toronto, Canada for the tempo game. So, it’s it’s a lot to be practicing and all of that. I don’t really think Caitlyn Clark needs to practice.
She can just get in and rock and roll. Now, Aaliyah Boston, on the other hand, I don’t know. Girl, you might need to get out there and practice. I’m just saying, Aaliyah, you might need to get out there, do some left-hand layups, right hand layups. Uh, I mean, just something. I don’t know. Aaliyah Boston might need to get out there.
>> Playoffs and um, every one of them count. So, >> what do you think you’ve in these games you’ll feel the most from these weeks, whether that’s execution of a certain thing, installing something new, even without two players. Where do you feel like you’ll see that? >> Uh, I think it’s the situational work.
Uh, atto execution. We’ve been able to get more familiar with our atto packages. Um, you know, these games are going to be tough. Got quality opponents coming up. The late game execution, I think we’ll see we’ll continue to see some some growth there. Um, and then just the consistency. >> How about y’all stop trying to be the smartest people in the room and put the ball in Caitlin Clark hands and let her work and put let Kelsey Mitchell play off of her.
Stop trying to have your center Boston be the point guard. I feel like y’all really overcooked the meal. Y’all put too much seasoning on it and now it’s it tastes salty. You overdid it. Y’all are overdoing it. This is simple. The defense, you know, that that’s one of the things that we’ve really stressed over the last week. Um consistency in our rotation, consistency, communication in our coverage, and just having each other’s back.

You know, looking to looking forward to seeing more of that. >> You talk about quality of winter games coming against teams that you’ll face in the postseason. like how important can that almost be as like a warm up in a way? >> You know, I think it’s it’s it’s huge for for your confidence going into the playoffs.
You know, you don’t ever want to stagger, you know, into the playoffs. Now, obviously, teams have done that and and then had success, but you want to go in with confidence. You want to go in on a high note. So, um you know, that’s why these last couple days, we haven’t really just been focusing on one team. It’s kind of been a collection, you know, working their actions, you know, understanding what coverages we want to be in against certain opponents.
you know, our our our focus will shift to Toronto now, but I think that we got some really good work against the three opponents, you know, last week. >> When you guys had to you knew the break was going to happen here at this point, play. I’m curious what you were thinking with how you guys were playing.
Was the break kind of like, okay, now we have to take a break from what we were doing or was it a much needed thing because you guys are on the move and playing? >> You know, I I think it was needed. You know, we had a stretch there. We had that brutal stretch, you know, in in August.
I don’t know what it was, five and whatever. Uh but we ended in Chicago and we we needed to get our legs back underneath us. You know, we needed a a little bit of a mental break, you know, just a few days off to kind of, you know, you know, reccalibrate. And I think this gives us opportunity to to do exactly that.
Recalibrate um and build on what we the things that we did really well. Um and then correct. >> Yeah. But y’all don’t even build on the things that we be doing well. We won five in a row with the ball in Caitlin Clark hands and then out of nowhere y’all make Aaliyah Boston the point guard versus the New York Liberty. We lose two games in a row.
It’s like what do y’all like I don’t I just I don’t I don’t trust this staff, man. I really don’t. I really don’t. >> And kind of uh see some strides on in the areas that we need to improve. So, yeah, much needed break. Um you know, they’ll say it wasn’t long enough if you ask them. Uh, but they got they got some good time off and then they they came back ready to work.
>> You think it’s good they’re moving? >> They how much time they want off? WNBA players don’t don’t be wanting to work at all. These some lazy ass >> World Cup later in the year like is the disruption a generally bad thing for league too. >> I don’t know. It’s always been a disruption, you know.
So, it’s always like with the Olympic break, you always have that kind of the break, the World Cup, you have that break. It’ll be different. I think it’s good. Um, I think it gives us, you know, opportunity to to kind of I don’t know. It it’s it it’s we’ll see. We’ll see. I I think we’ll see the next time it comes around.
Um, we’ve never really, you know, in those Olympic World Cup years, you’ve never really played a season through, you know, so we’ll see what that looks like. I think it could be good for us, though. >> So, that is what Rob Doer had to say. Uh he also prior to all of this he said that uh you know Caitlin Clark’s three-pointer before the half in the game versus uh France was definitely a momentum changer.

So that is Austin Kelly uh assistant head coach had to say about the return of Caitlyn Clark. We got to get to what Kelsey Mitchell had to say via social media. Uh, Kelsey Mitchell, Caitlyn Clark posted a photo um of her capturing gold at the Olympics and Kelsey Mitchell said the one. Um, and you got Paige Beckers in here as well, uh, Brianna Stewart.
So, you know, some good camaraderie from them. But it’s great to see Kelsey Mitchell in here supporting cuz listen, [clears throat] it’s the big two at this point. It’s Caitlyn Clark. It’s Caitlyn Clark and it’s Kelsey Mitchell. Aaliyah Boston is not in this. Aaliyah Boston is just a mere role player at this point and I’m fine with that.
That’s just what she needs to be. Um because she’s just not efficient enough shooting layups. Uh she doesn’t set good screens. Like I watched her set better picks for Jackie Young in that week of FIA basketball better than she set screens for Caitlyn Clark all damn season so far. All season. So, it’s good to see Kelsey Mitchell uh in here supporting Caitlyn Clark.
I look forward to the best back court in the WNBA returning on Friday and tearing this league up. Let’s go win this damn WNBA title. Get down in the comments. Let me know what you guys think. This is Keep the Vision. Make sure you like, comment, subscribe, and share the channel.
