Not much is known about his past, but Armando’s story gains more visibility when he was 23 years old. He was a bus driver and that’s when he met Andreia, who was only 13. They had a relationship, and Andreia ended up getting pregnant.

The girl’s family, fearing the repercussions this fact would have in the city, forced her to marry Armando. After all, for them it was a shame, even more so at that time, that their daughter was pregnant without being married. Andreia, obeying her parents, married Armando, and for the next 10 years she would be a constant victim of her husband’s aggression and abuses.

And, as with most marriages at that time, Andreia became pregnant again and again.  And again, the girl, who was still so young, ended up giving birth to seven of Armando’s children in such a short time during their marriage. Due to the large number of children in the house, the woman felt the need for help, so the couple hired a nanny.

You can imagine how difficult the household routine was! After all, there were seven children to care for, feed, and educate. Armando also tried to help at home, but while he was with one of the girls, the nanny noticed something wrong with his behavior. He was acting inappropriately with his own daughter.

Intrigued by what she saw, the nanny thankfully told Andreia everything. Andreia became furious and ended up kicking her husband out of the house. She then went straight to the police station to file a complaint. Upon arriving at the scene, standard procedure had to be followed, and Andreia’s daughter was examined.

The report revealed that no penetration had occurred, and given this fact, without concrete evidence of violence or inappropriate acts, the case was closed. But regardless, Andreia knew her husband was guilty, so she filed for divorce and continued raising the children alone. Now single, neglecting their upbringing and support, Armando w

anted a…  He searched extensively for new love until he met Norma Ortubia, a woman with whom he had an immediate and intense chemistry, which over time transformed into an unhealthy passion. They soon married and started their own family of children. Initially, even though Norma was an independent woman working for the Mendonça court, Armando played the role of a responsible husband, contributing to the family’s income through his work.

However, there was a problem: Armando did n’t have a stable job. He alternated between two jobs, sometimes as a bus driver and other times as a hotel employee. Although both contributed financially to the family’s support, this situation didn’t last long, as  Armando ended up losing his jobs. Faced with unemployment, he once again offered to take care of the couple’s children.

But we already know how this story ends, right? Or rather, how much sadness begins to unfold. Meanwhile, Norma carried the family’s financial burden, but although she performed her job well, her salary was modest, and the family’s living conditions, with only her working, were far from ideal. It was in this s

etting of a house…  In a humble home with many children and a man who took care of the house while his wife was often absent due to working to support the family, the sad story of our character, Cecilia Lucero, unfolds. Cecilia Lucero is the first daughter of Norma and Armando. She was also born in Mendoza, Argentina, in the early 1970s.

When she was barely 4 years old, Cecilia began to experience the bitterest taste of life—a sadness inflicted by her own parents, as Armando and Norma were truly cruel to the girl. They were clearly not suited to such a role. Cecilia was subjected to various forms of mistreatment, and she didn’t understand why all this was happening to her.

Unfortunately, this was only the beginning of an extremely hard life filled with all kinds of abuse. But we know many stories of daughters who were abused by their parents. What we didn’t know at the beginning is that Cecilia was not only a victim of her own gender but also of her mother, who always neglected her and was rude to her d

aughter’s cries for help. This is the…  The reality for many victims is that people who should be their greatest protectors become accomplices to their tormentors. This is what Norma, a cold woman who showed no affection for her daughter, did. While the girl begged her mother for help, she simply ignored her. But there was hope for Cecília. In the mid-1970s, when Cecília was about 7 years old, the couple, along with their other children, had to temporarily move to Norma’s mother’s house due to financial problems.

Contrary to what we might think, Armando wasn’t bothered by now living with his mother-in-law and fearlessly continued doing what he had been doing for a long time with Cecília. So much so that one day Norma arrived home early from work and caught her husband in her mother’s room with Cecília. At that moment, a major conflict arose in the house involving Armando, Norma, and her mother, Armando’s mother-in-law.

Due to the commotion, the police were called, but while we thought Cecília’s situation would finally be resolved, nothing actually happened because, in the end, the two women didn’t…  According to Cecilia’s later accounts, after denouncing Armando, he went unpunished once again.  After this incident, Armando declared his remorse and promised his wife, daughter, and mother-in-law that he would never do anything like that again.

But unfortunately, that never happened. In fact, as the years passed, Cecilia’s reality only worsened. She couldn’t understand how her own mother allowed her to go through all that. In her diary, written as best she could (since Cecilia was barely literate), she wrote about all the pain she had experienced since she was very young.

The most touching thing was how she expressed herself, how she expressed her sadness at never having been protected by the person who should have protected her most—her mother. It hurts, people. She even recounted an episode that remained etched in her mind: when she was alone with Armando, he undressed her and then himself.

Norma arrived home and, seeing the scene, feigned nonchalance and addressed him as if no one else were there. Devastated by the situation, Cecilia put her clothes back on while  questioning once again why her mother didn’t defend her.  At 15, Cecilia had her first period, and now you can imagine what was going through this girl’s head, having lived such a hard life at such a young age, surrounded by inattention, lack of care, abuse, and to top it all off, the lack of education she received, which would now directly affect her life and future.

Cecilia had no sex education whatsoever; she simply did n’t even know how a child was conceived. So, right after her first period, Cecilia became pregnant, and this was only the first of seven children she would have with Armando. But it seemed like the circus was about to close for Armando, because how could he have hidden Cecilia’s pregnancy from her again? With Norma’s help, Armando had his wrongdoing covered up.

When the news of the pregnancy became unbearable, the couple took Cecilia to the doctor intending to terminate the pregnancy, but upon arriving, they discovered that the pregnancy was already five months along, and the doctor refused to do it. Norma then arranged for her husband to get away with it again when questioned by the doctor about who the father of the child was.

A 15-year-old girl said that it was Cecilia’s boyfriend who had disappeared, got her pregnant, and vanished. I don’t even need to tell you that this person never existed. Norma, who was never a good mother, became very upset with the discovery of this fact and began to treat Cecilia even worse than before. The interesting thing is that in her mind, Cecilia was solely responsible for what was happening to her, always insinuating that her daughter had done something to provoke her father.

Yes, this type of sick mind exists and is more common than we imagine. When Cecilia’s son was born, using contacts she had within the Justice system, Norma managed to register the child in her name and in Armando’s name as if he were actually their son and not Armando’s and Cecilia’s. At that moment, there are people like us who don’t question how thousands of children who were taken from their parents managed to be reintegrated into society without raising suspicion from the authorities.

The answer is there: the word is corruption. We can see it everywhere and for everything.  There’s a corruption scheme, right? And in this case, we’re seeing a really serious scheme involving children and families who spend the rest of their lives not knowing what happened to their children. And this was actually just the first of seven problems that the couple Norma and Armando would have, since Cecília would later give birth to six more children, whose births took place in different health institutions in PR, thus avoiding, right, that the births

were monitored and thus attracting the attention of the authorities every time they were questioned about who the father of the children was. They said it was a boyfriend of Cecília who had simply abandoned her while she was pregnant. You must now be wondering about the health situation of the children, right, the result of this incest, right? Well, these victims obviously had their entities protected, right? But what we can say, because what we know is that yes, some were born with developmental and cognitive problems, and that they were all

convinced that Cecília was actually their sister and not their mother. They grew up thinking she was their sister and not their mother.  As more children were born, the family, which was already very large,  The large number of children began to attract more attention from neighbors who noticed that the family was growing, but Norma was never seen pregnant or Cecília leaving the house, as she was always only seen through the windows or at the door when she was doing some domestic activity. This situation was, at the very

least, strange for the neighborhood, which finally contacted the authorities. During the investigation of the complaint, not only police officers were sent to investigate the facts, but also social workers who are experienced in understanding this type of situation. However, Norma was quick-witted, so to speak, and used her position as a court employee to demand that they do their work as quickly as possible, causing the professionals to feel pressured and not do their job effectively.

Furthermore, in addition to the lack of tact of the professionals appointed to the case, Cecília was also not allowed to speak privately with the authorities, which was another serious mistake on their part. Not to mention that she was also threatened if she said something she shouldn’t. The years went by, and Cecília continued to live silently under all that oppression until, when she was 35 years old in 2009, she witnessed a scene that s

howed that Armando already had…  A new focus, a new victim. This was none other than one of Cecilia’s daughters, who, upon realizing the commotion, finally mustered the courage to report Armando to the authorities. Cecilia recounted every detail of those hellish years she lived through. In fact, she didn’t even have a single memory of a normal life.

Cecilia emphasized Armando’s modus operandi, saying that he had a disgusting life: he didn’t work, spent the day in the living room in front of the TV, and at the end of the day he would lie down on a mattress on the floor in the kitchen, all to have mobility during the early morning hours and thus be able to move between beds.

Another characteristic of the couple, to avoid being caught, was changing residences whenever they noticed that the neighbors began to suspect that something wrong was happening in the family. Armando was arrested, and this caused a scandal in the country; everyone now wanted to know the truth about the Lucero family.

The media then began to disseminate information about Armando’s distorted life, highlighting his criminal conduct and the suffering caused to so many people. Immediately, Armando defended himself, saying that everything was a lie by his daughter, but his lie obviously had merit.  The right time for things to fall apart, as the police now had enough technology to  discredit Armando, and DNA tests were obviously requested.

Total disregard after the truth came out. Argentina Norma, with her distorted view of life, sought to confront her daughter because, in her mind, Cecília was solely responsible for the misfortune that had befallen her family due to Armando’s arrest. Not satisfied with the verbal abuse she had inflicted on her daughter all these years, she attacked Cecília, who was rescued and saw the danger she and her children were in.

Therefore, she decided to move in search of more safety. Unfortunately, many people in her social circle also turned against her. Believe it or not, some of her own siblings, who had already left home and moved on with their lives, didn’t believe her story and chose to support their parents, even though deep down they knew the truth.

Even  Cecília’s older sister, who also claimed to have been a victim of abuse by Armando, decided to distance herself. After that, Cecília faced abandonment from those closest to her, which increased her distress.  Cecilia’s loneliness intensified, exacerbating her struggle for support and justice.

Cecilia’s accusation was a turning point for the Lucero family; she and her children were referred for therapy and psychological assistance to help them recover from the trauma they had  suffered after Armando’s arrest. He was placed in an isolated area of ​​the prison to protect his physical integrity, as other inmates were threatening his life because the entire country knew what he had done.

Then, at the end of May 2009, the DNA test results proved that Cecilia’s seven children were indeed Armando’s. Meanwhile, Armando’s defense tried to argue that the relationships with his own daughter were consensual, seeking to diminish the seriousness of the facts, but this argument did not last long. It was revealed that Cecilia was only 15 years old when she first became pregnant by Armando, which made what was merely an act a crime against a minor.

Cecilia, in turn, insisted that her father began to abuse her when she was very young; she presented evidence against Armando. Supporting his claims and thus refuting his defense’s allegations in the face of all the evidence, Armando was formally charged with the crime of aggravated sexual abuse due to family ties.

Armando’s legal situation became increasingly compromised as information about his crimes was revealed, because when it reached the media, other things began to emerge. The case, which gained national media attention, generated outrage, and people wanted justice at all costs. Armando’s defense was weakened, and society clamored for severe punishment for the criminal who caused so much suffering to so many people.

Now, look what happened with so much exposure: Andrea, Armando’s first wife, decided to contact the media to finally, according to her, seek justice for her children who were abused by Armando. She said that during the time they were married, Armando began to get close to the children in a way she didn’t like.

She also stated that he was violent towards her. But what Andrea didn’t count on was that Mia would delve deeper into her story and the eight children she had with Armando. Some are younger than the children the man had with Norma.  which proved that Andrea maintained a relationship with Armando for a long time after he left home, and that she, like Norma, also accepted many absurdities.

Another important point raised by the media was the fact that Armando, while with both women at the same time, also abused their daughters. As the story continued to be publicized in the media, new victims of Armando emerged. A 40-year-old daughter from his marriage to Andrea revealed that she was also abused by her father when she was a minor.

She also says that two of her sisters went through the same experience. According to her account, they all had to remain silent because Armando threatened to take their lives, and he always showed them the weapon he would use if any of them dared to contradict him. I don’t need to say that these additional revelations about  Armando’s manipulative and violent behavior served to further deepen the repugnance and outrage that Argentine society had towards this man, since it was evident that his actions would have a devastating impact on the

lives of his daughters, who were kept in a state of fear and silence for a long time. Thus, the search for justice for  Armando’s victims only intensified as society demanded he be held accountable for his crimes. At the trial, the prosecution presented a story claiming that when Armando was an adult, he had attacked one of his younger sisters, but his parents did nothing.

Perhaps if they had done something at that moment, Armando wouldn’t have accumulated so many criminal acts and created the victims he did. This proves that coddling a child might not be the solution to a problem your child carries. That’s it, Mom and Dad. That’s it. Cecília was naturally anxious about what she had waited so long for: Armando’s trial.

But while that didn’t happen, in April 2010 Armando was hospitalized in a medical center due to health problems caused by smoking and high blood pressure. His health was complicated, and therefore he was hospitalized in the ICU. On May 5, 2010, just 20 days before the start of the trial that was scheduled, Armando passed away, leaving a true trail of impunity.

It’s important to mention here that during all the time Armando was hospitalized, none of his 21 children and ex-wives visited him, and this scoundrel departed in solitude. In a later interview, Cecília was frank in speaking about her feelings. She said she felt a great relief with Armando’s departure because she knew that finally she could have a free life without being hurt by Armando, as well as her children and siblings.

But at the same time, she lives with that feeling of impunity, especially since Armando didn’t pay for his crimes on this earth. Although he escaped earthly justice, the impact of his crimes continued to haunt Cecília, leaving deep emotional scars. Her courage…  Reporting and confronting her abuser brought to light the importance of protecting and supporting victims of abuse even after the abuser’s death.

You must be wondering what happened to Norma, since so far we’ve only talked about Armando’s arrest. It’s clear that Cecília carries a deep pain and resentment towards her mother, or rather, her biological mother, since she was indifferent for a long time; in fact, she was complicit in all the abuse. Almost a decade after Armando’s death, Cecília filed a second complaint, this time against Norma, who raised the grandchildren her husband had with her daughter as if they were her own children. In fact, for justice and for

Cecília, if Norma hadn’t cooperated, this wouldn’t have been possible. So, what do you think? Do you agree with this? Norma, then 68 years old, was finally arrested by order of Prosecutor Gustavo Stropi, who stated that the crime could not have been committed without Norma’s collaboration, as I said before, and considered her a necessary participant in the crime.

The woman’s defense lawyers argued that she was innocent and that…  She knew about the abuse because, according to them, she worked all day. They also indicated that, due to her advanced age, the woman was in the at- risk group, considering the context of the pandemic. Meanwhile, the prosecution alleges that the crimes were committed over three decades while Norma was employed by the Judiciary, working as a court officer.

Although she wasn’t a legal professional, she had all the tools to get her daughter out of that situation, but she didn’t. They even alleged that she not only cooperated but also claimed that there is evidence that Norma participated in the abuse. The trial of Norma Ortubia, the wife of Armando de la Quarta, known as “The Jackal of the Fourth,” in Argentina, took place in September 2021, and she was finally sentenced to 10 years in prison.

This is very little. Cecilia’s story is a cruel reminder that often even people in their own homes are not safe. As part of the process, Cecilia received specialized psychological attention, and one of the suggestions made by the specialists who were monitoring Cecilia was that she write about her life so that she could learn, in homeopathic doses, to confront her demons.

It was through writing that Cecilia overcame what little she had to overcome.  Cecilia says she found herself in an evangelical church, a place where she feels welcomed by very good people. She also works to raise awareness and inspire others who have gone through similar situations. She has become a tireless advocate for women’s rights and an inspiration to many victims.

Cecilia has shown that it is possible to find strength and healing even in the worst circumstances. Her story continues to resonate and remind us of the importance of listening to and supporting victims of  abuse. This story shows how toxic a relationship can become, generating a sequence of traumatizing acts for the victims of a criminal and toxic relationship like this.

We can’t help but question how someone can destroy their own existence and that of their children in the name of emotional dependence. Furthermore, how some people condition their happiness on the existence of another being, another person. People don’t need other people; they simply feel happier when they find someone with affinities.
