WOW Caitlin Clark SAID THE UNTHINKABLE about Angel Reese and BEING BENCHED by USA Coach Kara Lawson!
WOW Caitlin Clark SAID THE UNTHINKABLE about Angel Reese and BEING BENCHED by USA Coach Kara Lawson!

Oh, boy oh boy, man. FIBA is finally done. Time for Caitlin Clark to get back to business in Indiana and go uh finish out this final stretch run and try to go into the playoffs with some uh good, you know, good juices flowing and getting a rhythm and get things back going with Kelsey Mitchell. Now, Caitlin Clark uh spoke candidly about Angel Reese and you know, uh her lack of playing time, uh her limited minutes under Carol Lawson and Team USA.
Obviously, uh none of us are really happy with the limited role, but at the end of the day, she got a gold medal. She did what she could do in her limited playing time. They didn’t really allow her to get in a rhythm uh any points uh for the most part. Anytime she had a good game, she would barely play in the next game.
I feel like it was a lot of sabotage going on with Carol Lawson and Stephanie White and Sue Bird. Sue Bird is the head honcho of this. Uh I think all three of them need to go, to be honest with you. I think all of them need to go, but we have to get into what Caitlin Clark had to say. Paige Bueckers and Aliyah Boston spoke as well.

Let’s get into what the goat Caitlin Clark had to say uh about Angel Reese and her limited playing time under Carol Lawson. >> Cathy, what does it mean to have that gold medal around your neck? >> Yeah, it’s pretty special.
I think anytime you wear a USA jersey and you have a medal hanging around your neck, luckily every time I’ve done this it’s been gold, but to do it in the senior national team is pretty cool and I think when you look up and you watch, you know, you look at the flag and uh you hear the national anthem play, like that moment never gets old and gives you chills.
So, just really thankful and grateful. Like these tournaments go really fast and you never know how many opportunities you’re going to have or if you’re even going to have another opportunity. So, >> I think you should reconsider the next opportunity. I’m just saying. If they’re going to have you doing the same thing the next go round, I don’t really think you should even bother with it, to be completely honest.
I feel like they disrespected you and they used you for viewership. I’mma keep it all the way real. >> So actually I’m thankful you all say basketball and get short court with these girls and double the memories I’ll I’ll remember for the rest of my life. >> Caitlin, that’s >> We were in a tough time and you guys came in you’re down two but you came on it and felt like that was the run that >> Yeah, I mean I think we felt really good about where we were.
I I think France was eight for 14 from three. Some people that really probably weren’t started shooters on our scouting report had made a few. But we dug ourselves an 11 point hole but we we climbed out of it we climbed out of it. I felt like we were never rattled by anything that they did. I thought we you know we have to give France a lot of credit.
They play with a lot of grit they play >> The vets got off to a horrible start per usual. They was getting they they asses kicked. >> a lot of heart a lot of passion. They’re aggressive but I think we showed what wearing a USA jersey is all about. It’s about dominating and that’s exactly what we did. >> Caitlin, the three before the half I felt like it changed the game.
Did you feel like yourself making it? >> Yeah, it was nice to see it go through the net. The first one felt really good too. So I felt like I should have been a perfect three for three from the field but we’ll take two for three. >> Caitlin, you really seem to find your momentum today and Stewie talked about making this special for you guys as your senior day too.
So that’s successful and how did you find your momentum? >> Yeah, I mean I think Stewie’s been a tremendous leader through this whole process for us. I think you know even after we had that close game with Italy like she was one of those really vocal in the locker room about you know not going to be flustered by like by this.
This is normal for a World Cup. You’re going to have to kind of get it out of the mud at some point. Like it’s not always going to be pretty and you know Stewie’s [music] a winner. That’s all she is. Like all she ever does is win and she’s been in so many of these moments and when you have somebody like that on your team it’s just a really comforting thing.
So to be able to share this with a lot of people that have won gold medals before is cool and then obviously with a lot of my teammates that it’s just our first time playing on a senior national team level and in a tournament like this is is really cool too. >> Caitlin, you were next to Angel on the left and >> Okay, yeah.
We’ll do this one and then one more there. >> Are you guys friends now? Did she want to >> We always been friends. Don’t try to don’t Don’t that. Don’t try to do that. >> She said Heron Angel, always been friends. Don’t try to do that. So, she’s not playing games with the whole people trying to stir up an Angel Reese issue. You know, she said that, you know, hey, I try to do what I can in my in limited minutes, but it is what it is.

It is what it is. I did what I can do. Here, let’s stop. >> Like, my team was going to need it, so it was a good time to come alive, and you know, just want to be impactful in my minutes. France is an incredible team. They’ve had an incredible tournament. So, I >> I wanted to be impactful in my minutes. She knew she wasn’t getting much playing time, and Caitlin Clark just tried to do what she could.
>> give them a lot of credit, but I think once we got down 11, we kind of found our footing, and then crawled back. We were able to hit a big shot before halftime, and then second half we really just dominated from there. >> And I was going to ask about that big shot. YOU BROUGHT IT DOWN to two points. What were you thinking when you took it? >> Yeah, I mean, I knew we were going to get a be able to get a shot at the end, so just get your feet set, be ready.
Jackie made a great pass, [music] and was able >> The first time Jackie passed to you all damn tournament. >> [laughter] >> to knock it down. >> And finally, you are now a world champion. What does it mean to you to have that medal around your neck and win with this team? >> Yeah, I mean, it’s pretty incredible.
Obviously, anytime you get to wear the USA jersey, it’s such an honor. You get to represent so many people in our country, and obviously represent USA [music] basketball. So, just really thankful. You get chills every time you look up at the flag and hear the national anthem when you have a medal around your neck.
So, hopefully there’s many more in the future, but just really thankful for this group and USA basketball for this opportunity. So, it’s been really, really >> That’s the goat, Caitlin Clark, talking, man. I I I’m be right. I think Caitlin Clark should should not just automatically say yes. There needs to be some conversations had if she’s going to be a part of this next time, cuz y’all y’all straight up used her for ratings.

Like, I I got to keep it real. I think there’s some conversations that got to be had. Paige Bueckers also barely played. She played what, 2 minutes? I’m hearing she hurt her knee some in the pregame. I don’t know if that’s 100% true or not, but she barely played. All of the young players barely played. Let’s keep it real. Her So, Paige Bueckers was very complimentary of the team.
I wanted to get to what Aliyah Boston had to say cuz Aliyah Boston spoke about Caitlin Clark as well. Um Caitlin obviously like out of all the young players, Aliyah Boston is ironically uh she played the worst out of all the young players, but she got more opportunities than any of them, but I get I don’t know how it works over there.
So, Kay So, Aliyah Boston complimentary of the Caitlin Clark three. Um we’re going to have to have a separate conversation about Aliyah Boston going forward uh when it’s time for her to get back to Indiana cuz I’m I’m not I’m not confident, guys. I I got to be completely honest with you. I’m not the most confident in Aliyah Boston at this point going forward.
Uh congratulations to all of the ladies on the gold medal. Um but going forward, I think that Caitlin Clark uh should have some conversations before she commits uh any further with Team USA uh cuz I just feel like the way she was handled throughout this process was pretty damn disrespectful and I don’t think it was right.
I don’t think it was right at all. I think a lot of the young players brought a lot of their cachet and their fan bases and I feel like that is what they were used for. And that’s just my opinion. What says you? Get down in the comments. Let me know what you guys think. This keep the vision.
