She Manipulated Everyone — Until Court

She Manipulated Everyone — Until Court

Cold, calculated, cruel, they all apply. Manipulative, probably the most manipulative person that this court has seen. Abraham Shakespeare was your prey and your victim. Money was the root of the evil that you brought to Abraham.  She is by every definition a violent, pathological liar.  Didi Moore is a very slick individual.

She knew what she was doing. She was very charismatic.  She was intelligent, but she was also greedy and her web of spinning lies caught up with her.  I did not kill that man.  On January 27th, 2010, the body of a man was found buried in a 9-ft deep hole dug in the back  of a property bought by Dorice Didi Moore.

This man was Abraham Shakespeare, a 42-year-old Florida man who had won a $30 million lottery just a few years before. Four years after the luckiest  day of his life, Shakespeare had vanished without a trace, only to be found decomposing beneath a property that had been bought with his own money.  He was in a pair of red denim jeans,  kind of a bomber-style jacket and a white T-shirt, but he was missing the shoes that he had on.

And also all metal from the jacket to include the zippers and the buttons and zippers in his jeans were cut out. She had removed those    to avoid metal detection.  A 6-ft probably more like a 7- to 8-ft length hole, rectangular dug out hole or trench as as I should note it as I would They trench. By  probably about 3 and 1/2 to 4 ft wide.

On January the 28th, 2010, the remains of missing lottery winner Abraham Shakespeare were unearthed on Dee Dee Moore’s property. What they discovered showed how far she had gone to conceal the crime.  Abraham’s body was hidden under 9 ft of dirt and a massive 30 by 30-ft concrete slab poured right over the top of him, making the grave look like nothing more than part of a construction project.

By the time investigators uncovered it in January 2010, he had been lying there for about 9 months. Abraham was shot twice in the chest with a  .38 caliber Smith & Wesson revolver back in April 2009 inside a house in that same property. His blood  was still around the house when investigations arrived, 9 months too late.

The spots in the carpets confirmed where he died.  Burying some concrete. We had buried concrete out there on the property before.  You went as far as to have concrete poured over top of where it was at?  A 30, I think a 30 by 30-ft concrete slab. Now, what would you say? Maybe 8 to 9 in thick?  Oh, it was $5,000. I got the invoice.

The house where Abraham was buried was officially titled in the name of Shar Krasniqi, Dee Dee Moore’s boyfriend at the time. Prosecutors showed that Moore herself bought the property for about $253,000  using money taken directly from Abraham Shakespeare’s own accounts.  Abraham cashes out his money and he wants to bury it.

Okay, I don’t want it buried on one of my properties, but  he begs me and begs me and I’m like, and he keeps asking me and so finally he says, “I’ll pay you $300,000.” Well, I look at myself, I got to be stupid not I mean, you got to be really stupid. Okay, $300,000, sure. What’s it going to hurt?  The body’s on property.

She owns the murder happened in her house and with her gun.  Once Abraham’s body was discovered, Didi changed her story.  First, she claimed Abraham had been murdered by an unnamed drug dealer known only as Ronald, supposedly over a debt.  This drug dealer went back and the guy’s name is uh uh I don’t know. I I just sounded out.

Two murderous thugs kill Abraham Shakespeare, but they’re going to leave you a witness alive.  She denied any involvement in the killing of Abraham, saying she only helped dispose of the body out of fear.  I had no clue. And I kept thinking I wanted to know what happened. They threatened they were going to kill my son.

Chop him up in little pieces and put him on my doorstep.  If you had nothing to do with his murder, why do you keep lying? I had a reason to lie.  They were going to kill my son. My son. Put him on my doorstep.  Later, she abandoned that account and shifted the blame to Abraham’s cousin, Cedric Eady. Once more, Abraham was killed after an argument involving money, and once more, Didi only helped cover up the crime.

But I’m telling you, Cedric took the gun and in cold blood [clears throat] he didn’t even hesitate to shoot the man and I seen it happen.  [laughter]  Are you serious?  I found out he wasn’t, but I did All he did  Five minutes Five minutes ago, if I hadn’t told you that we had the audio tape, you were going to tell us it was Cedric.

No.  going to tell us Yes, you were.  No, I wasn’t.  Oh, Didi.  Things escalated  quickly when she started blaming her own 14-year-old son, R.J., saying that he accidentally killed Abraham after a confrontation, forcing her to cover up the crime to protect him.  She said my son R.J. shot Abraham twice.

Abraham was trying to choke me. R.J. walked in the room, grabbed my gun, and shot him. He was only protecting me like any son would do.  After years of denying any involvement at all, Moore offered yet another explanation, admitting that she had fired the gun herself,  but in self-defense after Abraham became violent and attacked her.

I received a phone call from Didi Moore. She won’t call me. She won’t call me. She said, “Hey, I need to tell you something.” And I said, “Okay, what?” She said, “I really need to tell you Abraham is dead.”  There is no witness that can say she ever admitted to doing the killing or to participating as a principal in helping anyone else to do the killing.

Ronald lied to me. The drug dealer lied to me. I don’t care if you think I did it.  He didn’t stop for a second.  Okay.  She blames a drug dealer. She blames her ex-husband. She blames her cousin. And later, she even blames her own attorney. Completely different killers, all mutually exclusive, all impossible.

None of Didi’s stories matched the physical evidence presented by the investigators. Even today, as  she sits in jail for the rest of her life, Didi maintains she’s innocent.  In my case, none of my facts  came out or I would not be here. If my facts came out, I would have never got convicted.

You try to tell you that the cops, these people exist, and they laugh at you. They think you’re crazy.  But here’s what the investigators found. Didi didn’t dig this hole herself. She summoned her ex-husband,  James Moore, and asked him to do the work, telling him she needed to bury leftover concrete and trash from the property.

James came back hours later to fill in the hole. According to Didi, he didn’t know about the body.  How the hell could James not see that?  Because if he got right onto  the excavator, he didn’t like pay attention to that. He was just there to fill in the hole. He would not ever do something like that.

James would never ever  Did you pay attention to what was in the hole before you filled it?  No, sir.  Okay, did you see any debris in there do you recall?  Uh far as I remember there was, but I’m not positive.  Okay, did you see you recall seeing a body in there?  No, sir.  Before Abraham’s body was found, when he was simply missing, Dee Dee was telling everyone that Abraham was alive.

Maybe  in Texas, maybe in Jamaica, Puerto Rico, or Orlando, trying to escape all of the people that were asking him for money.  She she told  different people that he one he was on a cruise, um one story she provided was in the Bahamas on a vacation. Another story she had [snorts] mentioned that he was somewhere in the Caribbean receiving treatment for AIDS.

At some point, he was sick in a hospital. He had AIDS, and she even helped him disappear, run away from his life.  He wanted to pretend that he was dying of AIDS so that he doesn’t have to pay child support and people won’t look for him if he’s dying of AIDS.  By the time Dee Dee and Abraham met, the lucky lottery winner was already  fed up with people.

Of the $17 million lump sum he had  collected in 2006, only about $3.5 million remained. Everything else was lent to friends, family, distant relatives, and total strangers pleading for  a piece.  Abraham was good-hearted. And I  said if he was here today, I would let him know. I would have to tell him    how much I appreciate him for who he who he was.

I mean, it’s too late now.  Do you get tired of people asking you for money all the time, Abraham?  They don’t take no for an answer, so I really would like my old life back where I could walk the streets like a normal person.  Dee Dee got closer to him saying she wanted to write a book about his life, help him tell his story of a lucky winner who was being exploited and drained by everyone around him.

She became someone interested in him rather than his money.  I helped every lowlife, every  person. I never would say no to anybody. I helped everybody. I took in stragglers. I helped everybody I could. I would pay other people’s car payments when they couldn’t pay them.  Over the following months, she gained Abraham’s confidence and gradually inserted herself  into nearly every aspect of his financial affairs.

Because of this so-called book, she spent hours alone with him, asked him personal questions, and gained his trust. In the end, the book never got written.  Because I was wanting to do something different in my life, go a different avenue, and um I already had a successful business at that time, and I wanted to do something in book writing, and  Dee Dee eventually became his unofficial financial advisor, telling him she could help protect what was left of his fortune from the lawsuits, hangers-on, and IRS troubles she insisted were

closing in.  At first, I felt sorry for him. I knew that feeling. I knew that that that way of It’s hard to say no cuz you want to try to  help save everybody, and you can’t save everybody or you’ll have nothing left.  From there, things changed. On January 9th, 2009, she transferred ownership of Shakespeare’s $1 million Lakeland home to her own company, American Medical Professionals, claiming she had paid him $655,000 for it.

The investigators found no evidence that she ever paid him a single cent of this sum.  I had money. I didn’t need money like this. I had plenty of money. I’m not  greedy like that and I could make as much as money as I wanted with my with my with Abraham was worth more to me alive than dead.  Dee Dee also launched a business with Abraham.

Abraham Shakespeare LLC but listed herself as the sole person in attendance at its formation. She also gave herself signing authority that allowed her to approve transactions as large as a million dollars without his involvement.  was dissatisfied with that help. Believed he was being taken advantage of.

She had suggested that they create an investment company.  Dee Dee also met many of Abraham’s debtors and learned that they owed him roughly $570,000.  She managed to redirect more than 2/3 of this money into accounts  controlled by her or her boyfriend, Shar Krasniqi.  found out that he was having all these problems.    He had a problem with doing all his collections cuz no one would pay him back.

Once he gave them money, they wouldn’t give him any. They  would say, “Get the F off my property.” Threaten him and everything. So, he was having a problem with doing that. So, he had asked me about doing his collections for him.  Then came  the spending.  But my God, she just moved into a million-dollar home. She just got this.

She just bought him a new Corvette. The whole family was wondering, “Where the hell did she get this money? She’s never had money like this before.”  In February 2009, she purchased a 2008 Chevrolet Corvette for her boyfriend for $70,390.86  paid by cashier’s check drawn directly from her business account.  And we went into a garage and we got out and she pointed at a car and said, “That’s your That’s your gift.

”  The next month, she bought a 2009 Hummer for roughly $90,000. She bought a truck. She took a vacation. She used a chunk of Shakespeare’s money to purchase the Plant City property on Highway 60 for about $253,000, titling it  in Krasniki’s name. The same property that would, only weeks later, become Abraham’s grave.

I feel like if Abraham was okay, he would contact me by now because he he transferred all that stuff into my name. And then he was supposed to leave and, you know, not come back for a while.  250,000 goes here, 200,000 goes there, 220 American Medical Professionals. All the money starts flowing around.  When detectives eventually asked her where all the money was, she had answers ready for each.

The Corvette and Hummer were gifts from Abraham. The home purchase was a legitimate sale. The funds drained from his LLC were earmarked for his taxes, or to shield him from child support, or to keep him from buying drugs.  So I went up to the bank and paid his house payment for him.  Okay.  With my cash.

So I paid his house payment and found out that he was having all these problems. He had a problem doing all his collections cuz no one would pay him back once he gave them. So Abraham has got the money moved over now and he tells me 250,000, so I go buy my home. Because we’re riding around in the black and he black Hummer.

I have a black Hummer at the time and he likes to ride around nice and I ride him around and so does Judy. So  But before she got involved with Abraham, Didi already had a track record. In 2001, Didi hatched a scheme to collect the insurance of a car she could no longer afford to keep. She arranged to have the SUV hidden in someone else’s garage and then staged her own kidnapping.

She claimed she had been carjacked, abducted, and sexually assaulted by unknown attackers. Didi even underwent a rape examination at a hospital and told the police that she had been bound and thrown from a moving vehicle.    Investigators found out that she had taped her own wrists and thrown herself from a friend’s car to make the scene look convincing.

Do I deserve a life in prison? To die for killing a man I didn’t have nothing to do with? Absolutely not.  After Abraham went missing, Didi went around telling everyone that Abraham was tired of people asking him for money and had decided to disappear on his own will, insisting that he wanted to be left alone.

You know what happened.  I’m supposed to hold on to it till he comes back. He’s supposed to be getting money when he wants. And he did.  Investigators pointed out that Didi kept Abraham’s cell phone after killing him and used it to send text  messages to his friends and relatives pretending to be him so no one would grow suspicious.

Abraham was illiterate.  I would call and call and call and nobody would answer, but I would keep getting texts and it would have big words and then I’ll be like, “This ain’t Abraham. He can’t even say that word.” It was weird. It was very weird. I was like, “Nah, I’ve never seen Abraham write nothing but his name.

” Oh, goodness sake, you send him a text, I have to read it to him.  She also arranged for phone calls to be made to Abraham’s mother, Elizabeth Walker, by Gregory Smith, a friend of Shakespeare whom she paid to impersonate him.  She wanted me to call Abraham’s mother and tell Abraham’s mother that I was him.

She say, “Hello.” And I pretended to be Abraham. I was like, “Hello. What’s up, mama? You know what I’m saying?” And she was like, “Who is this?” And I said, “This Abraham.” I just got a little cold and I’m kind of frustrated. She said, “Okay, baby.” She said, “Uh when you coming home?” I said, “Um I’ll be home real soon and you could tell the police I’m okay.

”  He said, “This Abraham.” And I said, “Well, you don’t sound like Abraham.”  Didi produced handwritten letters and text  messages, too, claiming they all came from Abraham. She also paid Abraham’s cousin, Cedric Edom,    to deliver a card containing $100 and a small cross to Elizabeth in August  2009, signed in what appeared to be Abraham’s handwriting, so that the gesture would look like it had come directly from a son  still alive somewhere and thinking of his mother.

It was a card. And the card had $100 in the card. Just was  thinking he was he was right here in Lakeland just sent that round to him and that’s the way I thought about it.  Didi also offered the mother of one of Abraham’s two sons a $200,000 home if the woman would lie to detectives and tell them she had recently seen Abraham.

Because she wanted to know about all of his assets and she was like, “I can help you clean him out.”  Eventually, Didi started looking for someone to take the fall. What she didn’t know is that her fall guy was an undercover cop trying to get her to confess.  And then, what do you want?   50 grand.

Can I do it in payments cuz I don’t have that kind of cash. I’m going to have to sell something.  I’m going to need 10 up front.  She also offered to pay people to dig up the body  and move it to a different location so the crime couldn’t be traced back to her. All these exchanges were recorded by a device hidden inside a hollowed-out Red Bull can.

Even the parts where she told her fall guy which gun was used to kill Abraham    and where his body was.  This this was the sketch that she made. I’m digging down 3 ft and in and I will see a white substance that was in the ground. And once I get to the white substance in the ground, I will see his body.

If you listen  to the recordings, there’s 20 hours of recordings that show my innocence. He’s the one that suggests that. I say,  Today, Dorice “Didi” Moore is 53 years old and still locked behind the gates of Lowell Correctional Institution  in Ocala, Florida, the largest women’s prison in the state, serving a sentence of life without the possibility of parole plus an additional minimum mandatory 25 years for using a firearm in the commission of a felony.

I will have to say I never knew we treated humans like this at all. I really didn’t believe we treated humans like this.  Her appeals have all failed. She filed her first motion for post-conviction  relief in 2017, then amended it repeatedly, eventually swelling into a 48-page filing with a 10-page  handwritten addendum listing 12 separate grounds for a new trial.

Almost all of them centered on claims that her late attorney, Byron Hileman, had failed her.  Did you bury him in your backyard?  Absolutely not.  Why are you laughing?   Because  A man is dead. He’s been murdered, clearly. And you’re laughing.  Yep.  In 2023, Didi claimed that the investigators who built  the case against her had been bribed by drug dealers connected to Shakespeare.

Three appeals have been rejected.  I lied. I told you I was lying. Why did they lie? They had no reason to lie. I lied profusely. I kept  telling you I was lying. I didn’t lie that I was lying.    I didn’t lie that I was lying. Think about it.  So, that’s a greedy, calculating person who will go about getting what they want when  they want that whatever means necessary.
