Dylan Dreyer Details the Painful Past Miscarriage She Had on Vacation: ‘I Just Wish I Could Share This’

During a candid conversation with Nick Viall and Natalie Joy Viall on “The Parent Chat,” Dylan reflected on pregnancy loss.

Dylan Dreyer is opening up about the loneliness she felt after experiencing a miscarriage.

During an episode of “The Parent Chat” with guests Nick Viall and Natalie Joy Viall, Dylan recalled losing a pregnancy while on a group vacation, saying she kept the loss hidden from those around her.

“I was hiding the fact that I was pregnant, so I’m pretending to drink but not really drinking,” Dylan said. “That night is kind of when the miscarriage happened.”

Because she hadn’t yet shared news of her pregnancy, Dylan said she also felt compelled to keep the miscarriage private.

“I remember also hiding the fact that … I was dealing with this miscarriage,” she said. “I’m surrounded by people. There’s literally no one I can talk to.”

Dylan also spoke candidly about the physical toll of pregnancy loss.

“I’m crying in my bed in so much pain, because no one really tells you how painful, like physically painful, it is,” she said. “I’m like, ‘Man, I just wish I could share this with someone.’”

The conversation prompted Dylan to reflect on the silence that surrounds miscarriage, saying many women feel they have to keep their stories to themselves.

Later in the discussion, she also opened up about her struggle with secondary infertility, revealing that doctors eventually discovered scar tissue in her uterus that had prevented her from carrying another pregnancy.

“My uterus was scarred shut,” Dylan said. “There was a reason why I kept having miscarriages, and I couldn’t have any more kids.”

After undergoing a procedure to remove the scar tissue, Dylan said she was able to conceive again. She is now the mom of three sons: Calvin, 9, Oliver, 6, and Rusty, 4.

“He cleared out the scar tissue, and I was able to have my second, and eventually my third,” she shared.

Looking back, Dylan said she realizes speaking openly about miscarriage and infertility can help others recognize they are not alone and may even encourage people facing similar challenges to seek answers.

“I think talking about it only does good things for everyone around us,” she said.
