Savannah Guthrie’s husband revealed he’s a loyal fan of her broadcasts as he reacted to a moment on live TV in real time on August 11. Michael Feldman, who’s been married to Guthrie since 2014, surprised his wife with a sweet text during her Today show segment.
During Tuesday morning’s broadcast, Guthrie’s co-anchor Craig Melvin was in the middle of discussing President Donald Trump reportedly using a military jet decoy to leave Turkey following a suspected assassination threat when he was unexpectedly interrupted by Guthrie. Off-camera, someone could be heard sneezing twice during the serious report—and even watching far away, Feldman knew at once that it was his wife.
Melvin confirmed that the unidentified sneezer was in fact Guthrie a few moments later, addressing viewers as he shared. “Just a moment to clarify something that happened here on the air a few moments ago. Five minutes ago, I was sharing a story. You probably heard something that sounded like a sneeze. It was, in fact, not one, but two sneezes from Savannah Guthrie.”
Smiling, the TV personality confirmed, “It was a doubler,” but pushed back when her co-host jokingly claimed he had to “clean off” his shoulder from the spray. “No, that’s not true!” she protested.
Guthrie also revealed that her husband recognized her sneeze and instantly sent her a message to let her know. “I delicately sneezed over here, and then my husband texted me, ‘Bless you!’” she shared.
“He’s a good man. Bless you,” Melvin responded, while Sheinelle Jones marveled, “I just love that he knows his wife’s sneeze.” Guthrie—who shares daughter Vale, 11, and son Charley, 9, with Feldman—proudly responded, “I know, isn’t it? He knows my brand.”
On June 21, the Today show star penned a sweet Father’s Day tribute to the public relationships and communications consultant, calling him “our hero” amid the ongoing search for her missing mom Nancy. In the intimate post, Feldman could be seen embracing the couple’s two children as they shared a sweet moment in bed.
