There is speculation surrounding this startling incident. While various sources suggest something serious took place, some of Taylor’s fans believe she was filming a music video.
Taylor Swift shocked fans with a surprise announcement Tuesday, revealing she’s releasing a new song titled Patient Zero. Following the announcement, The Bad Blood singer released three CD variations of the track, including a piano version and an acoustic version for pre-order on the site. The front covers of the CDs featured three different photos of Swift, 36, dawning different black colored outfits with additional pics of the pop star on the back cover.
Each cover also featured different colored trims, including sparkly black, orange, and blue. Fans can pre-order the CDs for $3.99 each while supplies last. Swift announced the track after teasing fans with another countdown timer on her website, this time with a similar aesthetic to her, The Life of a Showgirl album.
She also hinted at the secret by decorating her page with what appeared to be a satin red curtain background bordered with gold showstopping sparkles. It’s unclear whether Patient Zero will lead to a new album or serve as a standalone solo track. Swift’s last album, The Life of a Showgirl, was released on October 3rd, 2025. The Lover songstress announced her 12th studio album on her now husband Travis Kelce’s podcast, New Heights, that August, revealing a vinyl with an orange and green color scheme.
The 12 track album included the tracks The Fate of Oilia, Elizabeth Taylor, Opelite, Father Figure, Eldest Daughter, Ruin the Friendship, Actually Romantic, Why Dollar Hly Dollar T, Cancelled, Honey, and The Life of a Several dedicated to her romance with Kelsey, including the song about his manhood titled Wood and Why Dollar Hly Dollar T, which hears her sing about finding a loyal companion.
