WE’RE GOING TO RECAP ALL WE’VE BEEN IN THIS off season.
We’re going to get into everything from training camps. WE’VE ALSO GOT AARON DONALD. HE’S BACK. AND TRAVIS ALSO, UH, I DON’T know if you got into anything this off this off season you want to mention, but if you do, we’re now would be the time. We’ll get INTO SOME LITTLE BIT OF THAT. NEW NEWS. NEW NEWS COMING IN HOT.
Our first bit of new news though, arguably the most important bit of new news that we have, Jason has been selected for the Cincinnati Athletics 50th Anniversary Hall of Fame class. That’s right, Jason’s a HALL OF FAMER. GO CATS. HOW DOES IT FEEL TO BE IN THE HALL of Fame, Jason? This your second Hall of Fame that you’ve been inducted in, correct? Well, that Cleveland Heights, I’m trying to think if I’ve been in another one.
Are you in another one? Ohio Music Hall of Fame, are you in that one? No, not in that one. Are you in the, uh, Ohio uh, Swim Cadets? No. Hall of Fame? No, not in that one. I don’t think that one exists yet. Well, uh, a- either way, if how does it feel? It feels like Cincinnati wants some money and Whoa, time out.
Time Time out. Let’s take that. Let’s rewind that back. Let’s keep it PG for our listeners. I mean, listen, I was a I was a two-time all-Big East Come on now, baby. Big East back with the back with the Big East poppin’. No, you were first team. No, I was not, Travis. I was on the second team all-conference twice.
And I’m in the Hall of Fame, so it does feel like a bit of this has been for my post-career uh at Cincinnati. 100% 100%. Uh it’s an incredible honor. I’m going in with my our former college teammate, my former pro teammate, Connor Barwin is also going in the Hall of Fame. CB, congrats. Congrats to Connor, man.
You know the third member going in this year? Oh, I do know. I do know who it is. The old ball coach. That’s right, Bob Huggins. Big Huggy Bear. Huggy Bear is going in. Coach Hugs, congrats, man. That’s awesome. Yeah. So, part of a awesome class. Obviously, incredibly honored that Cincinnati would uh adorn me uh with this honor into the Hall of Fame class.
Uh but you know, I again, I I feels a little odd knowing that uh I was a walk-on like two-time conference second team uh selection. But we did have a lot of success. It was a fun time. I love Cincinnati. I still love going back. We’re going back to a game this week, actually. Uh Connor, me, and Brent Celek we’re going to roll down.
Uh so, looking forward to that. Yeah, they got Boston College, baby. Let’s go, man. Let’s go. Cats start off the year on the right foot, baby. Let’s go. Yeah, so uh back to you getting into the Hall of Fame though, man. I hear what you’re saying. Um but at the same time, man, your your football career um it deserves of the university and Exactly.
Exactly. It’s It doesn’t just It’s not one little And it was and as much as you loved being there and you love talking about being there and you are you are in a big way an advocate for the university. I think a lot of that is by all means a part of this and I think I think you you know you saying that, you know, you went there, you loved it there, you grew there, you became a even better football player there and then you went on to do unbelievable things that a lot of centers in the entire world that have ever played this game
have never done. I think that has a lot to do with you getting this this acknowledgement. So Well, I I appreciate it, Travis. Thank you. Um very honored to be there. Can’t wait to go back to Cincinnati. I love being there. Can’t wait to watch the Bearcats. Come on, baby. Get up old Nippert Stadium, man.
Sit in one of those nice high-rise suites they got there, man. Ooh, there are some there’s some sweet seats right above the the tunnel that the cats walk out on now. I saw them uh selling those tickets. Those things look sweet, man. The best seat I ever had was in the student section at the basketball game. That was Dude, you got to then sounds like you got to find your way over to the student section, baby.
I mean, listen. See the band come flying down those steps in the beginning? I got a pretty I got a pretty iconic photo from like one of my first couple years out in the student section cheering on the UC basketball team. Sean Kilpatrick and his Yeah. Yancy Gates and the boys. Let’s go.
Do you want to look at these college photos? Yeah, let’s go let’s go ahead and throw the throw out those college photos. I think that Cincinnati posted, right? Gosh, looking at old photos, especially the college years, man. I got some gnarly photos. Holy Jason, you won the Heisman? I did. What a ball player, man.
Man. Dude, you got to bring back the stash, man. I so I just hate the way my face looks without a beard. Just can’t No way. Yeah. No chance. You’re a handsome young man, Jason. Look at that. Look at that dude right there. Freshman year. That’s a Mike linebacker right there. That was when I was still linebacker for sure.
That’s a man filling the A gap, baby. Let’s go. Ooh, look at John Gobel. Johnny Gobes, baby. Pit sweat is Look at him. This guy’s had a mic in his hand his entire life. He was made for this. Who the is that guy? OH, TRAVEY. WHAT IS THIS? OH, MAN.
New Heights in the beginning? Is this the beginning of New Heights? Oh, Camp Higher Ground? That’s right. Camp Higher Ground. You probably were a freshman that year. Wooden the keg of nails against Louisville. Louisville, yeah. Yeah, baby. Look at that, man. The one at the bottom is hilarious, man. That is Travis’s senior night.
So, that would have been my second year. I got a torn ACL. Well, I fresh and repaired ACL at that point. Attaboy. Little Derek Wolfe action. Wolfie in the picture. Goes. I’m bad at man. This is a very random photo to include. Yep. That’s it. Not my finest. Not my finest. Interesting interesting angle.
Interesting shot. Oh, yeah. This is This is what This is what Jason’s teammates remember. Being at the front of the fight. The commander in chief. Always leading everybody into battle, baby. Is that what I look like when I’m yelling? Is that how it always looks? You don’t really see it as that because it happened so fast, but I I think when I think that is you in the flesh.
That’s not AI. Okay, perfect. That was back when I used to just take a like I would just take my razor and that’s how I trim my eyebrows. I would just go straight across my eyebrows. So, they ended up being super thin. And not having any shape. I’ll go right here. I’ll go right here. Oh my god, dude.
That is hilarious. And then I would and then I would razor across I’m not going to lie. It’s a pretty good line. I would If you didn’t say that, I would have never guessed, but they are definitely way thinner than what they are now. Oh, yeah. That’s funny as hell, man. College is so funny, man.
I remember one year I actually tried to shave my chest in college. And then it grew back so fast that I tried to Yeah, I tried to wax it after that. And I showed up like 50-year-old version where it’s like bloody and patchy and I have scabs on my chest. Yeah, right. So I just gave up on that real quick.
In about 2 weeks I was like, “Yeah, I’ll probably never do that again.” Gosh, college. Just trying to figure things out, man. Well, um now that we’ve been able to embarrass me through a bunch of photos, let’s embarrass Travis. Travis made his debut as a global ambassador for Tommy Hilfiger. Can’t embarrass me.
I mean You look a lot better than I do. I love what you’re doing with your Do when you take a photo like Are they telling you to put your elbow like that? Um sometimes you’ll get so you Listen, photographers they they they have some good direction, you know? I always think of the scene in Austin Powers.
He’s like, “I need a tiger. I need a” You know what I mean? He’s like, “Yes, yes. No, no. Yes.” Um but yeah, I don’t remember whether I did this or not, but it is a bit It is a bit Chippendale for sure. It looks good. I mean, you’re definitely like suggestive a little bit with that RIGHT HAND.
BUT IT’S A GOOD PHOTO. IT’S A GOOD PHOTO. NICE, MAN. OH, there’s more. Okay, there we go. There we go. Oh. I didn’t know that Wendy was was out of the bag. Yes, Wendy is Yeah. That’s been released? Wendy is officially She is officially a picture dog. Well, she It’s a great picture, Wendy.
We got to get her We got to get her the the line in her size. Unfortunately, it’s just she’s just got her fur on right now. So we got to work with Tommy on getting her some some some good clothes. No, it’s it was fun. You know, we were going to use a dog in the shoot and the entire team was mentioning, you know, we were going to use a dog and am I okay with dogs? I’m like, “I have have They’re like, “Oh, you want to bring your bring your dog in?” I’m just like, “Uh let me talk it over with my my
fiance at the time. Let me talk it over with Tay and uh figure out, you know, what’s the best way to go about this?” And she was all for it. And it’s it’s kind of crazy how perfect she looks in a Tommy Hilfiger world. You know what I mean? Like she matches the brand and the shoot. And it was pretty easy to get her to jump on the couch and have some fun with us.
So, um but yeah, Wendy’s uh Wendy’s now a um model. Yep, she’s a model dog. She looks great. She’s killing it. Little old Wendy’s uh little over a year old now. Yep, we’ve had her for uh quite a while. Try to keep it under wraps. Got sniped. Got sniped at the airport. Well, it doesn’t it also doesn’t work when you put two of Tommy Hilfiger shoot with her, but yeah.
Yeah, good call. Good call. Speaking of other things out of the bag, we do have probably the most interesting bit of the off season that happened to both of us, but certainly to you, is that you’re finally married. We have not done a podcast since you are husband and wife. It has not happened. What do we want to talk about? We’ve already talked about this on other podcasts and so forth.
Guests have shared things. What do we What What do we feel like sharing and discussing? Travis, I’ll leave the floor to you cuz I don’t I don’t know. At this point, we’re what? Over a month out. It’s uh it’s been so much fun. First of all, the night was a night out It was insane. It’s a night out we’ll never forget.
Um me and Taylor are so thankful for everybody that showed up, you know, from from the vows to you know, just seeing everyone to how much fun we had uh throughout the entire evening and hearing that uh kind of be relayed through everybody’s stories of the night. And it was just so magical, man. And it I wish it could have lasted even longer than it did.
It felt like it just happened in a blink of an eye. And They kicked us out. Well, well, they stopped they Once the drinks stop being served uh everyone kind of just starts to you know mosey out but you know, thank you to everyone at MSG that allowed us to do this. We we wanted to do it somewhere where we could have a very uh intimate and genuine setting without without a lot of distractions and we we needed it to be a private feel.
So and then and MSG went above and beyond to give us that and I can’t thank everybody enough about that that showed up but also that helped put the show on. Uh and it was it was a very magical magical night and I can’t I can’t say thank you to everyone without a give a special thank you to the Adam Sandler. Oh my gosh.
Um he has been just the best person You’re right. on this planet. And I for him to be up for getting ordained in the state of New York and marrying me and Taylor Yeah. in the way he did and in the very you know Sandman style and giving us more than we could have ever imagined in that moment knowing that it was the biggest night of both of our lives.
It was it was absolutely insane, man. Yeah, I I when [snorts] you said Adam was going to be officiating the wedding I initially I was like man that’s he’s going to be hilarious but it wasn’t until like right before the wedding that I realized oh my god he’s going to like crush this because there’s No, well I mean obviously he’s an entertainer and he’s very he’s he’s hilarious but there’s a sweetness in everything Adam does like all of his movies and like like there’s a degree of it that I think really resonates with officiating a
wedding. I mean obviously he’d be a wedding singer too. I guess he is officially a wedding singer now but um I mean it was he was absolutely fantastic and the other thing was the ceremony was beautiful. Adam killed it. Both you and Tay were incredible in your vows. The thing I really liked about this wedding in particular and the way you guys structured it was like after all that was done, like there wasn’t like the sit-down formal stuff, there wasn’t like a bunch of the speeches, it was just time to party and have fun and that’s what made
it so fun to for like for me to be there. You’re seeing all these A-list celebrities and then I I said this on somebody else’s but like you see Mrs. I haven’t seen Mrs. Clark in forever. Seeing That was like the highlight SO BRAD PITT, HUGGING CONAN O’BRIEN, I see Paul McCartney and then all of a sudden I see Mrs.
Clark and I’m like, “What in the world?” And like it’s this company we Yeah, that was that was it was so cool to see how everybody interacted and you know, with no phones comes, you know, not people not having to be on guard and like feel that, you know, something, you know, whatever it whatever that feeling is for everyone.
It it makes it makes everyone be in the moment and be present and it was it was so cool seeing everyone from my childhood not only mesh with Taylor and her childhood and her family and friends and people that she works with to to who we’ve, you know, come in counter with over our career and who we just admire as people and have become good friends with now and it’s it’s just been so cool to see that world come together and hear through person by person, you know, after the wedding just how awesome of a time everyone had there and then that’s
what we wanted it to be. We wanted it to be, you know, a beautiful ceremony and It was so But we also wanted to make sure that everybody left there having some fun. Yeah. And and it was it was a magical night, man. Yeah, and I mean that’s what I mean. Like you know, Paul McCartney, Brad Pitt, like there’s there’s the but then also people that you guys grew up with and still have relationships with today.
Like seeing that ensemble and cast of people all sharing one room to to celebrate and like, you know, experience the day with you guys. Like as someone is so associated with a piece of that, it was it was just like it was so special and so awesome. Forever grateful for everybody that showed up and supported it, man. Also, 92% for those of you that are unaware, our own Jet Jake is officially a father.
Nice, Jake. He has taken on perhaps the most important role he will ever take on in his life and he now hardwiring a bunch of information into a child’s brain that will either be a success or lead to the next Ted Bundy. We don’t know which one will happen here. No, you can’t do that.
Time will tell what his job is. And that’s that’s fatherhood. And for those of you wondering why he is not coming on today, he is on paternity leave. Um which I have already started giving him I mean, let’s be honest. You’re not doing much, Jake. Like you can tweet with your hand and hold your baby.
Like we’re not You’re not going into the mill, right? You’re not forging iron and then having You can do both of these at the same time. I’m just saying. I’m with Jake on this, man. You got to get when you need some time off, you got to get some time off, man. HE’S GOT PLENTY OF TIME OFF. HE’S JUST HAD A MONTH OFF.
YEAH. ANSWER SOME OF THE 92% IS not that much time. That’s all I’m saying. The baby’s going to be asleep for half of it. All he’s doing is eat, sleep, and and that’s pretty much what the infant does for these first 3 months. I get maternity. I’m I’m all about She’s listening to everything Jake’s saying.
Listen, I’m all about fatherhood. I’m all about being a great dad, but like we all know that there’s only so much you can do. Like you know, they aren’t latching onto your tits. You can bottle feed. Listen, my baby needs me, man. Yeah, your baby needs you. You can be there. I’m just saying. It’s not much.
Cute Kylie just walked in. Kai, is 3 months too long for Jet Jake paternity leave? I need a woman’s perspective cuz I feel like I’m going to be shunned if I don’t. For paternity leave? Well, yeah, paternity. Is he on that call? No, that Jake is he’s on paternity leave. Yes, that is too long.
It’s too long? What’s What’s a What’s an appropriate time for paternity leave? I You’re asking the wrong person. I am someone who had a husband who went back to Well, yeah, we were we were football players. We had to work. They they don’t give you paternity leave in the NFL. I’m getting crushed right now.
You’re going to get We don’t want any of THIS THING NOW. THAT’S IT FOR NEW NEWS. We’re probably cutting that. Once again, congrats to our good friend Jake and his wife Emily. Very happy for both of you. I hope you guys do a good job. It sounds like you already are.
Jake, you are taking your full paternity leave. Well, and we’ll shoot to a quick ad read and then we’re going to talk some actual football. So, we’ll see you guys in a second. Mm, let’s see who’s sponsoring the show. New season. Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift just made it official in the most unforgettable way.
And the Super Bowl champion is finally opening up about every magical detail. On the season premiere of New Heights, the podcast he co-hosts with his brother Jason, Travis couldn’t stop smiling as he described their July 3rd wedding. “It’s a night out we’ll never forget,” he said, voice full of wonder. “Me and Taylor are so thankful for everybody that showed up.
From the vows to just seeing everyone to how much fun we had throughout the entire evening. It was just so magical, man.” The couple’s big day wasn’t just any celebrity wedding. It was intimate, joyful, and pure them. Travis lit up recalling how the evening unfolded. The personal vows, the laughter echoing through the room, and the way every guest left carrying their own unforgettable stories.
For a man who’s won championships and lived in the spotlight, this night clearly ranked above them all. Jason, never one to miss a chance for a laugh, chimed in, “Well, they kicked us out.” Travis shot back with a grin, explaining that once the drinks stopped flowing, the party naturally wound down.
The brothers’ easy banter only made the moment feel more real. Two guys still in awe of what their family had just witnessed. But, the real showstopper? The officiant. Travis saved his biggest praise for Adam Sandler, calling him “Just the best person on this planet.” Sandler didn’t simply show up, he got ordained in New York specifically for them, and delivered the ceremony in classic Sandman style.
Travis described the moment as “Absolutely insane,” saying Sandler gave them more than they could have ever imagined biggest night of their lives. Every word Travis spoke carried the same energy he brings to the field. Grateful, genuine, and still a little stunned that it all actually happened. For fans who have followed their love story from the stands to the aisle, this was the first real look inside a celebration that felt both larger than life and deeply personal.
And if this is only the beginning of what Travis is willing to share, the rest of the episode might just be the best one yet.
