Since I am a retired football wife, and you won your Oscar for The Blind Side, I have to ask, are you a football fan?  I love all sports. No, I do You know, I just was here to support the team. My high school boyfriend was a football player. I I I love athletes. I love and admire athletes and stand-up comics because it’s a muscle.

I I’m the person that when I’m watching a football game, I’m that person and it’s it doesn’t help anyone around me. Nobody My son hates it when I’m at the games cuz I’m like, “No!” You know, I root for whoever like deserves me to be rooting for them on the day.  Sure. If you ever need to pick a team,  Yes.  would you want me to pick one?  One in particular?  Yeah. Yeah.

With one close second.  Okay. Okay. Okay. I can do that.  Maybe the Philadelphia Eagles.  I think that’s a great choice.  Close second,  Yes.  Okay. Okay. I can do that.  Never  I can do that.  Never the Dallas Cowboys.  If you were one of the many real ones who guessed our guest correctly from my very very discreet clues last week, are we calling those discreet? Okay.

Just know I’m thinking the exact same thing. I have no idea how we got Sandra Bullock to come on this show, but we did. And whether or not I have no business speaking to her, she was on. And now you guys get to watch it. Okay. I’m going to try and focus for now. Uh I’m your host, Kylie Kelce, indifferent on pumpkin spice lattes.

Um although, fun fact, Queen Emma is a basic ass  and she loves a pumpkin spice. She holds herself together until September 1st and then she lets loose. I’m also a supporter of teachers everywhere. I grew up in a household where I had female influences my life that were working in the school system and so I I a deep appreciation for educators and everyone that works in a school.

I’m also a mom of four daughters, three of whom are back to school for first grade, kindergarten, and preschool three this week. Oh gosh. Coming up on today’s episode, I’m going to get honest about back to school in the Kelsey house. Spoiler alert, we’re 1 and 1/2 days in and it’s already as chaotic and ridiculous as you think.

We’re also going to do a back to school special doom scroll where I’m going to talk about what my dorm room looked like at Cabrini and the teacher who famously invented the fart corner. Yep, you heard that right. I said fart corner. Mhm. After that, the real ones already know, I’m going to be joined by one of my favorite actresses of all time, the star of Miss Congeniality and now Practical Magic 2, Sandra Bullock.

What? Oh my gosh. Just Yep, still can’t believe it. Okay, we’re trying to stay focused. Let’s start with our real one comment of the week. This is from real one Mimi SK on Instagram. We need Kylie’s take on Oreo gate, please and thank you. Okay, for anyone unfamiliar with Oreo gate, here are the spark notes.

Basically, uh from parents.com, the issue began when a mom reportedly asked the parents in her daughter’s kindergarten group chat to stop packing Oreos in their kids’ lunches. Her reason? Her daughter wasn’t allowed to eat them at home. The mom then reportedly contacted the school about creating an approved snack list. The school responded that while it encourages healthy choices, what goes into each child’s lunchbox is ultimately up to their parents.

Now, I saw this I saw this play out in a TikTok that was basically screenshot for screenshot and what the parent other parents in this group chat responded, which I will tell you, they were surprisingly gentle to this parent. My first instinct is just a really simple like that’s a you problem. Right? I fully support the opportunity for parents to feed their kids whatever they feel is going to be the best choice for their kids.

That is entirely your business. But you can’t bring your thoughts and feelings into somebody else’s lunch box. That’s not for you. Get your nose out of their lunch box. And also, not to take it that much further, but I’m going to do it anyway, I really feel like this is a learning moment that one of the reasons why I say no to my kids on a regular basis, besides the fact that they they shouldn’t just be given everything and anything they ask for, is because I want them to hear and be comfortable with the response no, so that when they get out into the world,

that when someone tells them no, that they hear that, that they respect it, and they listen. That’s easy. I’ve met a lot of kids that hear the word no and either think that they’re in trouble because they heard the word no, which is a little odd for me, or they don’t respect the word no, because they’re like, that’s not an answer I get.

I don’t I don’t know how to respond to that. This is a moment for me, for that mom to say to her kid, we don’t have snacks like that in our household. And if so-and-so, if Sally has that in her lunch box, that’s because I’m not her I’m not Sally’s mom. I will also say, I hope the school staff had a good laugh.

I hope they had a belly laugh about this one. Because sometimes you got to laugh so you don’t cry or rip your hair out. I would like to also put this out there. If this were in a situation where, let’s say, hypothetically, Oreos had some type of allergen in them that was severe reaction for the child in question that is not getting Oreos in their lunch box, then this is obviously a conversation to have amongst the parents of that classroom to be respectful of the child who’s who has literal medical need.

So, let’s just let’s go there. That’s not the situation. The mom just doesn’t want to tell her kid no and be responsible for the fallout of telling her kid no about Oreos. I kind of want to give that kid an Oreo. I’m kidding. I respect your decision. Well, since we’re already talking about lunch controversies, let’s talk about everything else back to school with a little Can I Be Honest brought to you by Mott’s Apple to Our Core.

This week, can I be honest about back to school with four kids six and under? I can? Great. Let’s get into it. Wyatt is in first grade, and I’m going to tell you last year we went through this. We went through the motions of uh I shouldn’t say motions. We went through the emotions of dropping her off for kindergarten and me realizing that was me dropping her off for school for the rest of her life.

So funny how that works. And so I was upset about that, but then I realized this year the difference between kindergarten and first grade. That’s a grade. She’s a grader. That’s so messed up. Um she went in and she was a little shy. She’s a little shy. But I think she felt good about the fact that Ellie was right next door in the classroom that she was in last year because now Ellie’s in kindergarten.

[sighs]  Huh. Also, rude, dumb, don’t like it. Um Ellie did not want to leave my side. She clipped her little finger onto the sweatshirt that was tied around my waist and would not let go. She was clipped onto me like this and wouldn’t let it go. Um she was uh very pleased about being in kindergarten.

She told every single person she came in contact with that that morning that she it was her first day of kindergarten, which is adorable. One of the cutest things I’ve ever heard. And also like just salt in the wound over and over and over again. Ellie always says goodbye to me. Usually she turns around and usually it’s like a bye, Mom. I love you.

And very enthusiastic, unlike my first child who does this when not turning around. Still gets me. I don’t ever want them to cry. Part of me is like I want you to be sad about leaving me, but also I would hope that your enthusiasm and excitement for school overrides that emotion and does not cause tears.

That worries me. I don’t want them to cry. I don’t want them to cry, especially when I’m not there. I did not cry this year, and here’s why. I had field hockey this morning. So, this morning was the first official get out of the car, don’t I didn’t go like nobody goes in with them. I didn’t cry this morning cuz I had field hockey and I didn’t have to drop them off.

Tomorrow who knows. Every single first day of school we have taken a picture in the same spot on a little path out in out in front of our house. The little walkway. Um I take it in the exact same place every year. And yesterday I took individual photos of Wyatt and Ellie, and then I said, “Will you guys go stand next to each other?” And I’m not kidding.

They stood about 3 ft apart and both looked like they were taking um mugshots.    They had completely straight faces and were nowhere near each other. And I was like, “Hey, guys, can you act like you like each other?” And Wyatt proceeds to continue standing in the exact same spot and Ellie goes over and smushes her face into Wyatt’s shoulder and like squeezes her as hard as she could and I was like this is like the perfect depiction of the two of you.

I do not do the board because guys, you you know I’m not I’m I’m not type A enough for that. Um I if I had a board I would have lost it after the first time. That’s a lie. Guys, I bought a board this year and I still didn’t use it. Maybe I’ll use it for Benny. Let’s be real. That’s two weeks from now I’m probably going to lose it by then.

One thing I’m not excited about being back is me being back to packing three tiny human lunches in the morning. It is garbage. It is so uh God, it it’s just so daunting, which sounds ridiculous. I know that there are bigger problems in the world than making lunch and I would like to say the hopefully obvious sentiment of I am very fortunate to be able to have food to put in my kids lunches. I I am.

It is so daunting to look at three empty lunch boxes and have to make sure that you’re putting in the things that those individuals are going to eat. Typically, I’ll take maximum 12 minutes in the morning to make lunches. I’m not doing cute little bento boxes. I have not gotten into the whole like let’s pour the boiling water into the hot cup and then put the mac and cheese in there it’s still piping hot at like I’m not that mom.

I don’t want to do little shapes in my  I don’t want to I don’t want to do any of that. And to be perfectly honest with you, occasionally I will put a note in there or a little treat. That gets more of a reaction, a positive reaction from our girls then I think shapes or anything else would. For allergy purposes, not of my children, but of other people that we are around, the thing that we have defaulted to is a bagel and cream cheese.

Occasionally, we’ll do um like banana muffins, and I will get this. Wow, you guys are going to come at me for this one. Sometimes I put cottage cheese or uh yogurt into the muffins so that there’s a little more substance or protein in them. Whoa. Going against my own words there, huh? Not often.

Do not Don’t even be out here being like, “She makes muffins fresh muffins every morning.” I don’t. Occasionally, I do that. You want to know when I do that? When I’ve bought too many bananas and my kids have told me no about bananas so long that they go brown. And then I try to do one thing that is like a refrigerated good, which would be like a cheese stick or a yogurt tube.

One of the fruits my kids will consistently eat are apples. The problem with sending apples is that you wash them off when you get them, so then do you put them in a baggie so that they don’t get dirty in the lunch box or roll out of the lunch box and get dirty? Do you pack them with a paper towel so they don’t get bruised? But like we’ve all seen how kids treat their backpacks.

This is a whole thing. And honestly, it’s what has driven us exactly where you think. It’s Mott’s applesauce pouches. And they sponsored this segment, but I’m being dead ass. I grew up on Mott’s applesauce, so we always used to have a container of it in the fridge cuz everybody knows ice cold applesauce on pork chop night.

Cold applesauce, yum. Especially when it’s so hot like it is today and they’re probably sweaty and gross at school, and then they get the refreshing cold applesauce. Yum. And also an apple takes a while for a five, six-year-old to get through. I don’t know about your kids, but my five-year-old can make like a 30-minute ordeal out of a single apple.

The kid in my house that loves this the best is Finn. I truly think that if we let her eat as many as she brought to us, she might eat six in a day. Now, I don’t actually let that happen. We say no to her about the six applesauces in a day, but she’ll try. Guys, you can feel good about this snack. It’s made from real apples.

There’s no added sugar. It’s real ingredients that you can feel good about. And you can also feel good about the fact that it’s easy to eat for the kids. It doesn’t get all over the inside of their lunchbox and you can’t bruise it. All right, that does it for can I be honest about back to school brought to you by Mott’s.

Sandra Bullock is coming up very soon, but first a quick back to school edition of doomscrolling of the week brought to you by Apple Pay. First off, apparently people are spending an absurd amount of time and money decorating their dorm rooms now. This is crazy to me. Watch this clip. No. Immediately, no. Guys, we’re doing Yes. Yeah, yes.

Yes. I mean, people are doing peel and stick wallpaper. Marbled peel and stick wallpaper on their desktop. They are bringing in bringing in IKEA furniture to make it look like they have a full-size dresser. There are whole decorative chairs happening. There are window treatments. There are framed things on the wall. Framed.

Framed. Let Let tell you high-end luxury of when I was in college, okay? High end luxury. Lights are on the top of the room. Christmas lights are on the top of the room. Tapestries. Big deal. The idea of hanging up framed photos blows my mind because all I can see in a dorm room, truly all I can see is either there were two options, okay? You were either putting string across and clothespin your pictures up or all of your photos really tight together in a collage formation.

And also once upon a time I had a carpet in a dorm room and we had to cut a piece off the carpet because someone had too much to drink.    We literally cut a square out. Guys, college  [snorts]  college you don’t need this. You don’t And also, but at the same time, here’s the thing. At the end of the day, if this is what makes you comfortable, if this is what helps you to not feel as homesick, if it gives you the comforts of home, if it makes you um if it if it makes it feel better for you, have at it, but I do think there

should be a hint of struggle. What was Jason’s take on your dorm room? Queen Emma wants to know. LOL, gotcha. Yeah, he was in there. He was in there. You know what? That’s a big man in a twin XL.    That’s a That’s a large man in a twin XL. I’ll tell you what. He didn’t fit well.

But, you know what? I do love a snuggle. All right, last scroll. I’ve said it before. I come from a fart funny household. Farts are funny. That’s it. You There’s nothing that’s as it can get. Farts are funny, and if you don’t think so, I’m sorry that that’s you’re missing out. You know I have thoughts on the viral fart corner that this teacher instituted.

Let’s see it so we can we can check it out together.  This is our  It’s a sign that says fart corner.  This is our fart corner. If [snorts] you need to fart, simply come over here, fart, take about 10 seconds,  Yes.  little spray going on, and go sit out. Nobody’s paying attention. Nobody cares. Nobody  Yes.

is worried about it.  Now, I love this for so many reasons. I love it because, first of all, it’s hilarious. Second, I love it because it normalizes farts, which is a bodily function, and we should really chill out about it, but also they’re funny. Now, obviously, when you see something that is this out of the ordinary, and again, funny, where do we go, everyone? To the comments. That’s right.

We sprint to the comments cuz that’s where we belong. Let’s  see. I can’t. The first comment says, “Why is    Why is Hold on, I got it. I got it. I got it. Why isn’t it called the gas station?” Oh god, people are funny. Next comment says, “Everyone is    It says everyone is paying attention and everyone is going to care, lol.

” Oh my god. The next one says, “When they’re It says when they’re bad their desks over there. Oh my God.    I can’t. Anyway,  [snorts]  my initial thoughts on the fart corner is that this is hilarious. I would like to bring up the fact that one of these comments brought up a great point. Everyone is going to pay attention when you end up in the fart corner and everyone is going to care because again, farts are funny.

Maybe we should start a new crap.    No more No longer suck my ass. It’s farts are funny. I want to know from this teacher if the corner is used. That’s what I want to know. I want to know the frequency of use. I also want to know what age classroom this is in. Um I feel strongly that it has to be elementary school.

If it’s not, there is no way in hell. I mean, not a chance in hell that a middle schooler or high schooler is showing up in that corner. I have told my kids, don’t trust a fart at school. If you need to fart, you need to go to the bathroom. Because my fear is that they’re going to trust a fart that they shouldn’t have trusted and then I’m going to get called, “Hey, can you bring some new underwear up to school? We’re going to need some new undies.

” I don’t want that. I’m not saying it happens often. I’m just afraid of the moment that it happens being at school cuz at home, quick fix. That does it for Doom Scroll brought to you by Apple Pay. Sandra Bullock is coming up. One of my and your favorite actresses of all time. The Academy Award-winning badass you know from such iconic movies as Miss Congeniality, The Proposal, Speed, The Heat, Gravity and of course, Practical Magic.

Speaking of, Practical Magic 2 is out September 10th. I cannot  wait. She’s also a fellow mom, animal lover and now she’s officially not going to lie. I can’t believe I’m saying this. Sandra Bullock, welcome to the show.  Hi.  I’m going to start with my own not going to lie. I was very recently watching Miss Congeniality with which is one of my favorite movies.

It’s the best.  With my nieces, my teenage nieces who had not seen it. To their credit,  Yeah.  they don’t watch a whole lot of movies.  Okay.  But I was like, you need to see this. This is like This is like kind of a right of passage. You need to watch this movie. There’s no way you should be going about your life without having seen this movie.

And so needless to say, I put the movie on. And  asleep.  No, no. We proceeded to get distracted by my young children.  Okay.  And so we ended up in the kitchen.  this story?  Yes, it’s lovely.  Just making sure you finish it. Okay, go ahead.  Uh well, we did not finish watching it that time.

We did end up getting back to it, but the one person who stayed in the living room and watched it till the finish was my husband by himself.  because we made it for men.  Yes.  Everyone knows that.  It’s a how-to guide.  That’s it.  Yeah.  Um Jason loves the movie, obviously. He sat there through it and was like, yeah, I get it.

And I was like, no, no, like you need to like the girls need to see this, talking about our nieces, and he was like like, is this like top of the list? And I was like, no, no, it’s like very high on the list of movies that are  How old are your nieces?  should have seen. Uh 17 and 18.  Okay.  I cannot emphasize how much I love that movie.

It’s a It’s a It’s It’s sweet. It’s like good-natured.  It’s so good.  you know, William Shatner, I mean, how It You can’t  It’s so good.  It just And Benjamin Bratt and all the girls and Candice It just It just worked.  It did.  thought it would  when we were making it.  Really?  Go figure.

Um yeah, and we were shooting in Austin. It was like 100 degrees like for 90 days straight. We smelled like cheese. It was horrible. But it was It was a bunch of good-natured human beings going, we just want to make people laugh.”  Yes.  And you did.  And we did.  Yeah.  And it was outstanding.  Yeah.  I can never figure out what part of the movie sits the heaviest with me.

Like, I which which one is my favorite. I do think it is the trip and fall is just  Oh, there it’s just the art of the trip and fall.  It’s one of the best reveals.  Which trip and fall did you like? There was a trip  the trip and fall on the on the makeover reveal.  in the Hervé Léger dress?  Oh god.  eight Spanks underneath and like seven chicken  cuz it didn’t look like it.

That whole dress is basically a walking Spank. It’s like you they put in the palm of their hand and go, “Here’s your wardrobe.” But I was like,  “Some things are just going to move too much.” So, I put on like two sets of Spanks. I had the chicken, you know, the little chicken cutlets.

I had six of those in the heat sliding all over the place. I mean, it was it you know, and then when you the trip, there was a little mat down there and things would move and they’d have to slide them back into position cuz so much of what’s up there is not me. Um but it was it was you know, I love a I love a fall. I love a an accident.

I love an accident.  so good. Um now, have your kids seen Miss Congeniality?  They have. They don’t care.  Aw.  They don’t They You know what? I’m kind of glad that they don’t care. Like, I don’t want them to know that what my like People who do jobs that go to the office every day, the kids don’t care.

They just care if you come back with stuff for them. They knew about craft service.  Yeah.  That’s what my job was, a place that had extensive craft service.  This is so relatable because my kids think that when they go to football, they get water ice.  They get what?  Water ice. Water ice.  What is water ice?  Um  Like the shape of a slushy, but you eat it with a spoon.

Yeah. Wow. Rita’s, I’m so sorry. I’m so sorry I described it like that. That was so disrespectful of me. Um, it’s but they they swear they’re like one of the last times we went to football.  Even when their dad is playing?  Yes.  Okay, cuz it’s boring.  I mean he’s so he’s not that his playing is boring but to the children this oh, for sure.

He’s like this would be boring to him. This is his third season not playing and so we went the first season he wasn’t playing to training camp we went to watch football. No.  [clears throat]  And but they got water ice.  Priorities.  Completely fine. It really it really is.  Yeah.  Um, yeah, but that that tracks.  Yeah, it does.

Okay, I do have one more question about Miss Congeniality. Is it true that the Gracie snort was not in the script?  No, that’s me. That’s me cuz when I when I exhale, I got to take equal amounts of air back in. Cuz it’s a balance thing. Yeah, exactly. I yeah.    It’s a passing up thing. [snorts] Yeah, cuz when it’s really good, yeah, it’s all got to come out.

Yeah, well the the Gracie’s talent show specifically with the cops outstanding.  Yeah.  But the self-defense lesson  Good, right?  So good.  How to do self-defense? That that outfit brilliant was made by the costume designer for the the ballet company in Austin. It was incredible.  a lot of sense.

It’s good, right? With the tutu but you you always want to make sure that the portion of your thigh that you’re not happiest with is covered up. So I was like, can you lower the tutu? No, little lower and then we got up on that stage and the camera was down there and I went, um, no.

You’re not going to be putting  the Don’t go below the tutu.  we covered that. Get up here.  yeah. So it was all about navigating the tutu and the camera angle.  That’s so good. Now, that talent show dress was an iconic look.  Yes, yes.  And I’d love to talk to you more about your movie fashion with a game we sometimes like to play called blind ranking.

Blind ranking, okay.  So I’m not familiar with that.  I don’t know.  No, we’re no boyfriends. We have a time.  Rank your boyfriends.    Um so Queen Emma has five images here uh of some of your most memorable  here.  Yes, Queen Emma’s right back there.  you’re the Emma.  Yes.    Yes.

god. Like I had you as really really tall and like you came in like  Wow. That’s such a compliment.  crown that I you know.    Okay.  Um so Queen Emma has five images here of some of your most memorable movie outfits.  supposed to see them cuz I saw this one?  We’re going to We’re going to look over but you have to rank them one through five.

One being the best.  Are you going to give them all to me so I can switch Oh,   You’re not allowed to switch them. That’s the blind part. Okay.  Okay.  First up, the wedding dress from The Proposal.  What’s Betty’s hands on my boobs? I mean And her quote saying it’s like an Easter egg hunt trying to find your boobs.

Outstanding.  Hello. It still is.  It’s like some things never change but only Betty gets to search.  Was she  Everything. Betty White is everything. I say is everything cuz I know she’s still floating around. She We had a day where we on we were on this little boat. It was Ryan, Betty, and then just me.

I don’t think anyone else is on it. And it was freezing. And they’re like, “Sandra, do you want a jacket?” I’m like, “Yes, I’m in these heels and I’m freezing and I have this big down coat.” And Ryan’s got a down coat. And then I sit down next to Betty and I’m freezing and I’m like, “Will you get Betty?” And they go, “Betty, we Do you want anything?” She goes, “No, I’m fine.” I’m like, “Fucker.

”    She is She is She was the epitome of a human who lived her best life, found the best love, made lemonade out of absolutely everything, had timing that was unbelievable.  Incredible.  The women of that time, if you look at the comedians had the most incredible timing.  Yes.  And to watch her work was like like nothing.

You just don’t even bother to to say anything funny. Don’t try. Just let it be Betty because she just she just could own a room. She was incredible.  Our 3-year-old currently asks for The Golden Girls.  The Golden Girls. She’s watched The Golden Girls.  watch Golden Girls in the morning sometimes when it’s just my 3-year-old.  That’s kind of epic.

fair, she wears pearls. She’s she’s a  Stop.  She’s very sassy.  she’s a reincarnated LIKE OLD LADY.  WHO WHAT if she was Betty? Um so, The Proposal. So, am I going to rank that?  Yes, you have to rank that look, the wedding dress from The Proposal.  Because of Betty, I say two. I don’t want to put it one cuz you might come in and I might need a number one. Yeah.

Okay.  Okay, perfect. Number two. Um this next one is Practical Magic. When you’re you’re doing the run.  that that again  T-shirt, jean shorts, boots.  And again Faith Hill saved me in this scene. Because more was bouncing up and down that shouldn’t have been bouncing. It wasn’t the It was the I was like you know, and you’re like, “Please don’t make sure the camera doesn’t see the landing part.

” You know, when you hit and everything just goes down like that. So, that’s why the shorts were that that length and not a little shorter.  I have to tell you this is this outfit right here is a perfect example of I still coach high school field hockey. I tell my athletes all the time that we we had it first. This outfit today would  kill, slap, kill as the kids would say.

The wellies, they wouldn’t do so much. We need to bring those back. The hundreds I’ve got a whole closet full of them. They’re just they’re they make an outfit.  Yep. Yep. But they I mean, yeah. Emma’s saying slay. Slay? Queen Emma says slay.  I always slay that day.  But this is but this is the type of outfit where like you wore it then, it fit and now it’s  It’s  Gosh.

It’s all that.  And I got I got to run to Mark Feuerstein, who was so beautiful standing there with that smile and an apron.    It’s kind of nice.  Not a bad finish line.  Not a bad finish. I’d put that at Oh God, this is going to be hard. So, I’m trying to think of what else that you could  [snorts] [sighs]  I might have to put this at five.

Okay? Don’t give me that look cuz you’re going Do you really want to put it at Yes, I’m going to put that at five.  All right.  Okay.  I mean, I don’t You’re not having a different ranking  I have a different ranking.  Okay, good. Okay. Okay.  But I know what’s coming. I’m cheating.  I felt in the in the clothes.

It’s all about how you feel in the outfit.  Yes, I’m remembering the imprint on my brain when I saw you in it. Okay.  Okay, you have your thing. I have my  I think this is I For me  another one?  Number one. Oh, oh, snap.  Uh next up is the purple dress from Miss Congeniality slow-mo scene.  amount of effort that went into making that that I might have to put that at number one.

Thank you for doing that. We do have a We have to show We have to look at the clip. It’s I mean. Are you kidding? I mean, right?   hell.  Fuego.  Fuego. Wow.  And what you don’t see in this is that  my face from the night before we had shot like a 13-hour night and you know that green face mask I had on?  Yes.

I didn’t want them touching my So, just leave it on. Just keep And it started cracking and it cracked my skin. So, I had little road maps of where the cracks were. So, you don’t see that here cuz film is forgiving. But I had crack.  Outstanding.  Yeah. I had crack.  Did you think to yourself I look  hot?  No.

You should have.  I don’t think I’m trying to honestly think of any time that I thought I felt hot. And it’s always when you’re like roll out of bed like you have your hair is just cute and tousled and you’re like a pair of jeans and t-shirt and no one can see it.  Yes.  That’s when I look hot and it’s wasted.

And it’s wasted on my children.   Well, is it wasted on us? We get to we get to see it.  get to see it yeah I get to see it and go you know what you’re cute.  If anyone gets a photo of me looking like that  It’s never as cute as I thought. Weird. Doesn’t translate.    Interesting.

But I don’t think I’ve ever left the house thinking I look hot.  You killed that scene.  That scene because I could make it funny. I knew the lead up was to a funny. That’s why I could work it like that. If I was trying to be serious I couldn’t work it like that.  That’s fair.  They asked me to do a runway and I say I can’t.

Kidding. No one has    You guys are like really? Why would you say no to that?  No, why would you say something like that?  Because they haven’t asked  Because he has not asked me.  Yeah.  Okay, so are you putting that at one?  That’s at one. Yeah.  Um yes. Yes.  got that at one. We have Betty at two.

We have shorts at five.  Yes. And we have two more coming. Um did you get to keep that dress?  No.  Okay.  We were at such a low budget. That was a big designer. And we had to return almost everything unless we built it unless we made it.  worn it since? Have you seen it?  Can they? That’s what I’m saying.

Yeah. You know who needs to You know who needs to A drag queen needs to work it. Like with really long legs. Like RuPaul.  would be good.  Ru.    The dress.  Hit it.  Yeah, hit it.  Okay. Now we have to throw this one in there for funsies. We have gravity space suit.  Oh, I had that I have that.

I have that.  So you guys keep it there.  I got to keep that I took that home.  Yeah.  Okay.  I have that.  Was it fun to put on? Was it heavy?  That that was fun because by the time I was in that I was sitting in the Soyuz with George and I didn’t have to pretend like I was doing Martha Graham because that was all me doing slow motion movement while, you know, I was speaking at normal speed.

Um but yeah, it was actually very comfortable, really comfortable.  Um now, you’ve worked with some incredible actors, George Clooney, Anne Hathaway, Keanu Reeves, Melissa McCarthy, just to name a couple. If you could reunite with any of those co-stars, which would you choose?  It’s a hard one because it’s like who makes you better? Like who makes you like battling with Melissa comedically? Like I will go back to anybody for the funny if it’s the right setup.

You know, I don’t want to repeat too much. I know we’re doing Practical Magic 2, but I feel like that wants to be said for a plethora of reasons. Um I loved working with Hugh Grant. He’s so brilliant and crabby and just he’s brilliant.    He’s crabby. He owns it and it just works for him. Um I don’t think you know what? Betty White. Bring back Betty.

If I could have another moment with Betty. I would love to.  That’s  See what I did?  for everybody.  See what I did though?  Yes, please. Dear God. Uh now, where are you ranking this spacesuit?  Oh God, yeah. So, I’ve got one and two covered.  One and two and got to be three.  It’s got to be three.  Perfect.  Yeah.

Now, number four.  I know what it’s going to be. It’s going to be the toots.  It’s not. Oh, One in a Million.  It is One in a Million.  Oh, that scene when we shot that that we all were like all of us girls when we shot it, we were like we are the best dancers.    We are fabulous.

Like we were working it. We were everything.  You guys nailed it.  it. And we had a the coach who coaches actual pageants. The man who was there was beautiful. He was so beautiful. Like he was buff, he had that tousled hair, sort of, you know, like jeans, t-shirt kind of guy. He was didn’t want us, but no, looked like he maybe could have wanted us, but didn’t, but we were all just so in love with him and anything he asked us to do, he goes, “Could you guys lean forward?” We’re like Like this? Like that? More?   Yeah.

He was He was incredible, but when the music played, we were in an auditorium and at over at UT and we thought we were the we were just at  Cuz you were.  it.  Cuz you were.  Yeah.  Do you remember the choreography?  Well, no. No. When I see it, I go  You think?  I I pieces of it. Pieces of it, yeah.

Yeah. Maybe we’ll hit it later.  So, that’ll be That’s four, right?  Yeah, no, you’re going to hit it. You’re cuz you’ve seen it more recently.  I have seen it multiple times recently.  Do you know the choreography?  No. No, no.  Next time we see each other.  I’m not um Don’t have to be.  I’m  You just need handsome man to come  teach you.

Perfect. Yeah. Come through, please.  Yes.  Um now, is it true that you purposely didn’t do dance rehearsals so that Gracie would come off more authentic and a little more clunky?  Cuz I love to dance.  Do you?  I mean, maybe you can teach me.  Well, do you want You want to We can do a little session.

Um  I just didn’t want her cuz I My desire was like, I have to look as good as possible. Like my I’m like, you know, and she can’t look that great.  No.  Yeah.  That would  to do her job and assess the crowd.  I love it.  Yeah.  Okay, how do you Do you feel good about the rankings?  I I do.

Sweet num a kind of  took it easy on you without throwing a curveball in at the end there.  Thank you.  We didn’t want to leave her hanging in the last  Yeah.  Yeah.  weird. Uh well, we talked a little bit about Practical Magic earlier, but I’m excited to talk to you about Practical Magic, too.

Once again, it’s out next Thursday when this episode releases. Um we rewatched Practical Magic One. Magical. True like in every sense of the word. What is the best part about playing Nicole Kidman’s sister?  Is that like in real life we are completely different.  But oddly matching when it comes to life experience like things how we approach things events and like like weirdly like we could we it’s like two halves of a whole the same thing as it is in the movie um and we play off of each other the timing really well because you just give us a

set of lines and a situation and you put us against each other and it’s it’s going to it’s going to work because we approach it in completely different ways. And if we have to be combative it works if we have to be loving it works um we both fall into who we’re supposed to be as a sisters really well.

Now the soundtrack on the first one before we started filming we were talking about how it was perfection.  it was perfection. It saved us. It actually was the a whole other character in the film.  It it’s crazy to because I mentioned we rewatched it yesterday it was time after time of me being like oh    god good song.

Yes.  Yeah.  Now I I would like to know I need you to tell me and we can bleep it if we need to.  Yes.  Are there any like sleeper songs in this one where you’re like people are going to be surprised and excited?  You mean by the artists that are in it?  If that’s  Or is there is there a song that I think will really hit and make people just go yes.

Can you tell us what it is we’ll bleep it. Although it’s out tomorrow.  I I cannot tell you this song. No I can’t there was there was a song in it that  Is there one that comes to mind?  Yes.  Damn it.  Yeah. There’s one that comes to mind. It’s a cover of a song.  Oh.  That Brandi Carlile does.

Okay.  And it is it was one of my it’s a song that I’ve been carrying around for like 20 years going this is the greatest song right and she said she would she would cover it. It’s It’s a song that has to cover three scenes in three different generations. And it’s that song that cuz I kept saying when we were making the film, I kept looking up at the sky going, I didn’t know like about my mom and my grandmother. I didn’t know you as young.

I didn’t know what your feelings were. I didn’t know you had the same feelings and the wants and the longing that I did, you know, and I It’s I think most kids can say that of their parents. You just know them as old parents.  Yes.  Always. Even though they might have had you as a teenager, you’re just still an old parent.

Um and so I looked at that and I was like, what song supports saying I didn’t know and I’m sorry, you know, and but I’m always going to be here. And and there’s a Billy Joel song song called And So It Goes. And she she covered it and it just like it’s it’s really beautiful.  Gets right in the feels.  Yeah. Yeah.  Well, yeah. So now we know.

And it’s to all the mamas and the grandmothers going, we wish we would have known you at our age and when we were younger so we would have known what you longed for, what dreams didn’t come true, who you were when you were brave and wild, you know. So Yeah.  We’re screwed.  Yeah.  Bring the tissues. Got it.

Um now I know we can’t spoil anything, but I have to ask are midnight margaritas back?  Yes, but in a different way.  I love that.  Yes.  Um and do you have your own personal version of a midnight margarita because  we were brainstorming ahead of time and I think that mine would be like an 8:00 Olipop.

Thank you. What  an Olipop?    Virgin Olipop? Just probiotic drink? Like it. I like to call those cuz you know, the drink drinks are called mama’s little helper.  Perfect.  And if they happen, they have to happen fairly early in the day cuz I like to be in bed by a certain time.  So a a midday margarita.

margarita. Yeah. Because I like to be in bed so I can get up at the 5:30 time. Yes.  Um  I That’s time do you go to sleep? What time would you like to be in bed? Thank you for asking it that way.     I would love to be in bed and asleep by 9:30 at the very latest. I like to say that whenever we go out to dinner, I like to call it the AARP special.

I like to have a 5:15 reservation. That’s how I like my dinner. I don’t want to have an indigestion. I want to go to bed after I have had time to sit up, digest properly, watch a little something on the telly, some mindless get the sheets pulled up right to here, get the jammies. Yeah, with you. Totally with you.

So what time do you go to Depends who’s who’s in the bed. Yes. And who has decided that they can or cannot fall asleep. Yes. I mean recently it’s been like a 10:30 situation. When the sun’s up later, they’re up later. Yeah. Yeah. So They have a tendency of that. Now, as someone who has been given some ridiculous names. Wait, you were given a name? I’ve been given names.

So there’s a letterman jacket, an Eagles Philadelphia Eagles letterman jacket that was famously worn by Princess Diana. Really?  Yes. And it was iconic. It’s incredible. And in Philadelphia it’s like one of our claims to fame. It’s embarrassing how much we brag about it, honestly. Well, we we can get a photo of it but the they re-released the jacket and it was a limited release.

It was maybe 500 of them. It’s high school boyfriend so this is the jacket. That’s her wearing it. And so they for for charity cuz I wouldn’t have agreed to it any other way. I recreated the photo with the jacket. So look at that. It yep. And no, don’t look at it too long.    Why? Cuz that’s not your head and not your body? Cuz  embarrassing and I don’t like having my photo taken.

photogenic.  Thank you so much for saying that. It’s a very pixelated screen. It’s okay.  We like to call that soft focus.  Soft focus.  a soft focus.  soft focus.  Soft focus,  we do.  Um but because of that I got the nickname Princess Kiana. Which is ridiculous.  Princess Kiana.  Mhm.

Uh there’s also the Duchess of Delco. It’s a Don’t Don’t look too much into it.    Wasn’t looking. But go ahead. Good.  Um but this all takes me to the fact that this is going to  somewhere?  there’s a destination.  Just making  It’s that you are called America’s Sweetheart.  There’s a couple of us.  That exhale.    There’s a There’s a There’s a couple of us.

couple of you that in the summary one searched Meg Ryan and Shirley Temple are also  in there?  Shirley’s in there.  Good old Shirley. With Shirley.    But think about No one knows who Shirley Temple is. Go back and look at this like  And I love crackers in your soup.  I’m eating those curl like just  So good.

I still feel like she was like a 50-year-old woman that just didn’t have a growth spurt. You know what I mean? Like she was an old lady in that tiny [snorts] little body.  Yeah,  it was Betty.  Betty White.    So we’re from Shirley to Betty to your your daughter.  Yeah.  To Benny.

Benny Betty. Uh now, do you agree with this title of being America’s Sweetheart?  I love that you looked at me like  What title?  Well, I was like, “What what  It took us a We went on a journey. We went on a journey.  Um are you America’s Sweetheart?  Do you know what? It’s it’s I didn’t give it to myself.

Mhm.  Um it comes with a lot of responsibility that I don’t think I’m prepared to carry.  Okay.  Um if it’s if it’s me just trying to do the right thing and be a decent person, great. I’ll take it. But it does sort of put you on a pedestal that you don’t belong on. And then you fall off the pedestal.  And that’s what happens daily.

Um you should probably ask people who know me if I belong there. Does she belong there?  Well, don’t ask her. She’s a publicist. She’s going to say she’s She’s going to say yes. I love working with her.  asking her.  Yes, I’m getting a very enthusiastic yes from the people that live under my roof. I think you know, it’s nice.

It’s really nice. It’s It’s a lot of responsibility.  Okay. Yeah.  Cuz you can’t have a bad day.  I think you can.  I think you can. Not in public.  Well, um I will say I have a feeling you also get this, but people often tell me that I’m relatable.  Oh, you are. Very much so.  I Thank you for saying that.  it’s your potty mouth.

It’s like the value of an F bomb.   I actually I always relate this to I relate being relatable to being a mess. Like I think that it’s  I think it’s the gentle way of people being like, “You’re a  disaster. You’re a human being and you’re real, and you’re not hiding it, and you’re going This is all I’ve got.

It’s all I’ve got.  Yeah, that’s all I got. Yeah. Yeah. And then we have a nice glam squad that fixes it. And that lasts what? 2 hours before it goes up in a bun? How long before your hair goes up?  Um  Or do you let it stay down?  Aw- away from my kids, I will let it stay down a little bit longer.

With my kids, it’s not down. It’s not down.  Yeah.  My first has a habit of telling me, “I don’t like your hair in a bun.” And I’m like, “Thank you so much. I will literally wear it in a bun  that’s That’s when they’re younger. Louie hated my hair up. “Mama, your hair down.” “Really?” “Down.” I’m like, “What’s wrong with you?”    You know, it’s like, “Is it this the problem? Cover it up.

”  Cover it up. Cover the face. They’re on- They’re honest.  I know. A little too honest. A little too honest. No, you don’t need to appreciate it. You don’t want it any other way.  Now, if you had to pass America’s Sweetheart Yeah. to anybody else, do you have someone that you think could earn  good ones.

There’s There’s a couple good ones. Like it just good women that are younger than me. Like Emma Stone. Give it to her. Lily Collins, give it to Lily. You know, Joey and Maisie in this film, like they you know, they’re They have spice now. The great thing about the younger generation is that they can be spicy.  Yes.  I wasn’t allowed to be spicy.

No one wanted me to be spicy.  Yeah, behind closed doors is the    But no one wanted you to have They wanted you to be sweet.  They wanted you to be really safe.  Mhm.  Um but they I think now people are okay with the balance. There’s a lot of good women out there that could definitely take that I I pass the baton to happily.

I’m glad.  Since I am a retired football wife and you won your Oscar for The Blind Side, I have to ask, are you a football fan?  I love all sports. No, I do I love I love  You gave her that answer, didn’t you?  no. She She knows what I know and what I don’t know. I’m I’m in a basketball family. My son’s a basketball player.

My My daughter’s a basketball player.  [snorts]  I was a cheerleader.  Yes.  And when I cheered first and 10, no idea what that meant. I just you know, I just was here to support the team.  Yes.  My high school boyfriend was a football player. I I I love athletes. I love and admire athletes and stand up comics because it’s a muscle.

It’s like it you you put yourself out there and it’s it’s incredible to me. And I I’m the person that when I’m watching a football game I’m that person and it’s it doesn’t help anyone around me.    Nobody. My son hates it when I’m at the game cuz I’m like No, you know. I I admire the sport. I don’t root for just one team.

I root for whoever like deserves me to be rooting for them on the day, you know? When everyone’s at the house for the game, all sort of I won’t pick I’ll pick a side that feel feels, you know, like it it needs me.  Okay.  You know.  Um, if you ever need to pick a team,  Yes.  would you want me to pick one one in particular?  Yeah.

With one close second.  Okay.  Okay.  Okay, I can do that.  Maybe the Philadelphia Eagles.  I think that’s a great choice.  Close second.  Yes.  The Chiefs.  Okay. Okay. I can do that.  Never.  I can do that.  Never the Dallas Cowboys. Sorry.  You know what? I I grew up I grew up in DC.

Yeah.  You did not even mention Dallas Cowboys. That was that was a  No, no.  Blasphemous.  Yes. Yes.  She’s that’s correct.  Yeah. Yeah. So, okay, I got you. I can I can give you that as long as I get some swag, like some like a jacket.  I can get you that jacket.  I want to be a duchess as well.

Done.  I don’t want to be royalty.   This is actually so easy.  There’s never been an easier lift. We’ll get you a jacket and then you can say, “Go Birds.”  into the Go Birds Go Birds. Is that like a hand signal like  Nope, that’s it. You just go birds.  signal?  Literally anybody that’s wearing Eagles stuff, you can say go birds.

They It’s rude if they don’t say go birds back.  Got it. Okay.  It’s lovely.  I like to be in the know when I’m sporting stuff.  do you frequent Philadelphia by chance?  Been there once.  Love it.  Need to be invited.  This is  I only go to where I’m invited.  Just now.  Let’s come watch football.

Go birds.  Invite.  Go birds.  Make me bring the kids.  Love it.  And then really be nice to me so they go, “Wait a minute, other people know birds.”    We can we can make this real jazzy.  I can like do it on the field.  No.  No.  I’m an introvert. Don’t put me on a field. Just have me know.

I like to be in the back.  Thank you so so for saying that.  Why?  Because I will be standing right back there with you.  I like to be like when we go to concerts, I’m in the back. Like I don’t want to embarrass the kids either when I’m doing pulling out my dance moves cuz they’re epic.  Oh.  But they don’t think so.

So I just sort of stay in the back. See that?  See that’s that’s one place where I’m I’m going to really enjoy letting my dance moves out  I’m there with you in public to embarrass my children specifically.  Perfect.  Yes.  Let’s do it. I will say just one more nod to football is that um there was a a little bit of a stretch there in Philadelphia where we were having a little difficulty running the ball.

Running the ball.  Running the ball and a lot of people were enjoying the audio of you on a phone call saying “Run the damn ball.”  Run the damn ball.    I was like wait someone got me on the back.  Run the damn ball.  Yeah.  Did you think that one of your personal phone calls had been released to Philadelphia? Just Philadelphia.

I started sweating just a little bit.  I was like I was like you said what? Huh? Um did you learn anything about football during the movie? I did. What I filmed the movie. Okay. Perfect. Don’t ask me about any of it right now. I’m I can take a hint.  [clears throat]  I’m trying to trying to remember any of it.

Do you know what first and 10 means now?  First down at the 10 yard mark.  Close. Not somewhat. No. Not at all. That this face.  No. You got it.  Is that was that right?  Yeah.  So can let me ask you something. If it’s like  have to be the 10 yard line.  So let’s say it’s like it’s  12 or 13. Yes.

They still call it first and 10. Yes cuz you need 10 yards to get the first down.  I see. That makes sense. That’s a good rule.  the first down of trying to get 10 yards.  Get forward. Okay. Got it.  Yes.  Uh-huh.  [clears throat]  We’re there. You had it.  So had it.  that. You had that.  So um well like all moms we’ve already been talking about our kids throughout this conversation but I’d love to talk some more about motherhood.

How old are your kids now?  16 and a half and 13 and a half.  So that’s  It’s  exciting.  It’s and and terrifying. And it Yes. Yes.  Don’t mind me answering for you. How’s it going?    I’m in it. Um you know, my mother always said to me, “Just wait till you have daughters.” cuz I was a difficult child in that I didn’t do anything, but I looked like I was about to do it all.

I was really scared at first, so I didn’t really do much. But I was defiant. I was very defiant. I talked back and you know, my daughter does the things I thought about. She is an action girl.  We love that.  She is This child This young soul is one of the bravest people I’ve ever met. Not because she’s willing to defy me, but because she really has no fear.

Athletically, um in her voice, in her telling somebody what she thinks. And I go, as hard as it is on me as a parent, if this is who she’s going to go out into the world and be, she’s on the right path. I just have to put bumpers on her. She will run something like a country. She’s She’s incredible. She’s incredible.

Scares it scares the  out of me, but um you know, I’m her mom for a reason. And I’m in it and that’s why I have no life outside of my house. Um and my son is like He’s like a 78-year-old wise man inside a 16-year-old basketball player’s body. He He knows everything. He sees everything. He knows things that I don’t even know.

It’s like I literally find myself in situations and I go, “What would Louie do right now?” because his judgment is so spot-on. Like he can look at humanity and he you know, in a sea of people, he’ll go, “That’s unsafe. That’s And he knows to like make friends with all, keep your enemies close, but just sort of assess the room.

” And he’s  You’re not worried about him.  Not I Yes, every single day he leaves the house. Every single day. But not for the reason because of who he is as a human being. Um but he’s he’s one of the sagest people. Like I look at him and I go, if there’s proof in reincarnation, whatever he was before he got here wasn’t was an evolved beautiful soul.

Yeah, and he’s been that way since they put him in my arms. You know, 10 days old. That’s the same kid.  Same kid.  Now, I like to talk about some of the more humbling and we’ll call it overly honest things that my kids have said to me.  Yes.  Um some of the ones more recently, uh my oldest loves to make comments about how squishy my belly is.

Mhm. We call that the Dunlop. Love it.  Dunlapped over your belt.  Notice the Notice the drapey vintage tee that I wear.  Um Yep, she uh she likes to do that. I told you she I wear a bun I’d say 90% of the time and she likes to remind me how awful it looks.  Yeah. Yeah.  Um I put on a dress the other day and she said, “I like that.

Mhm, never mind, it looks [clears throat] bad.”  What was she looking at? What was she focusing on any particular  Okay.  Um but I don’t know if it’s the way I turned Needless to say, I returned it.  Yeah. Okay.  Who am I?  You know what? You know what? They’re the most honest people with you. Your husband knows better to say, “I don’t like that.

”  You’re damn right he does.  Yes, he’s like, “Babe, you look amazing.”  Yes, he does.  Yeah.  Yeah.  And that’s not always truthful.  I need the honesty.  I I I’m with you, but you don’t need it all the You don’t need it from your husband.  No.  Not there.  No, and also sometimes I would like a hint of a filter.

Just a hint, you know?  From the kids.  Yeah.  You’re not going to get that. Let me tell you something, it gets worse.  Great.  Yeah.  That’s perfect.  Yeah.  Mhm. Uh do you have anything that stands out that your kids have said to you where you were like thank you.  Yeah.  Um You know you  Lila Lila is is Yeah, she’s brutal.

Um I was getting on a Zoom and she walks by and she went you know you can put a filter on that. And I went what? She goes you know you can make yourself look better. And she just types and she slides and she goes put it right there. And it was like literally like someone taking Vaseline and smeared on the lens and put a sheet in front of my face.

And I go okay. And it’s still on that same setting. It’s like again the honesty I appreciate. She said I needed to date but only someone where they can get stuff. So I said what a rapper or basketball player?  That’s that’s the parameters like what is it Yeah, she’s like yeah. Okay. Yeah. I went no.

[clears throat]  You have to kind of appreciate it because in that moment she delivered it with harsh honesty.  Yeah.  She’s taking care of mom.  She’s taking care of mom.  She is a fixer.  Even my oldest being like that No, it doesn’t.  Yeah.  She harsh honesty. But how bad would it have been if I had kept the dress and worn it out?  And how bad if I’d gone on that Zoom? I wouldn’t have gotten the job.

Right.  Yeah, it’s a horror film. No,  I think we should I mean I just lean into who they are. I’m like I meet them exactly where they are and I go I’m getting something amazing even though I’m crying on the inside, I’m getting something amazing.  Uh now I read that you chose the timing uh you did to make Practical Magic 2 because of your kids’ schedule and not wanting to lose time with them.

Have you navigated this balance since you first became a mom?  I have. I have. Um it’s you know to me being a mom it’s it’s it’s everything. I mean my job is great. Um I didn’t expect to be doing it this long cuz, you know, when I started, nobody did the job this long. Um, my kids are my everything. So, if it doesn’t work for them and my time with them, then I’m not doing it.

And I’m lucky. I’m lucky that I’m one of the moms that gets to be with her kids all the time. I have no desire to leave my kids. Producing and having my company, I get to make sure everyone else gets to do that if that’s what works for them. Um, and women can kind of make it work. We can.  Mhm.  We can We just do it.

People go, “How do you keep calm and carry on?” You go, “I don’t know. I just have to. I have no choice.”  Yes.  Yeah.  Um, now was it a little more challenging when they were little or is it because I if No. Maybe maybe it’s just my perception. We’re currently in we have 6, 5, 3, and 1. So, it feels very much like you’re in You’re there every second of the day.

Yeah.  Now that yours are older  Yeah.  I’m sure that there’s a little bit more leeway.  a different need. There’s a There’s a leeway in that you’re not thinking about their physical safety in the same way. It’s like cuz when Lou was a year and a half, 2 years is when I went off and made Gravity.

And I, you know, lived with him in London, but he was a little toddler. So, I was like he was with me on set. He was, you know, everyone’s attention was on Lou. So, I knew he was covered there. I didn’t have to think about what camps does he want to be in, what friends does he want to be with.

When they get older and they become teenagers, if you take them away from their friends, which I did last summer in London, that’s a hard thing.  Mhm.  Lou is a basketball player. Had to find a basketball coach. Had to find the the tribe that would feel good to him. You know, you can’t just throw him in with kids anymore and go, “Make friends.

” Um, my daughter was is a race car driver, literally.  That’s so cool.  And so, she decided she was going to go to karting camp with 16 and 17-year-olds and just just learn the fundamentals of of that. And she was in heaven. You know, it’s but you have to figure it out cuz sometimes the camps don’t work out.

You get the call of come get me right now. And then you’re like, what do I do? I planned this around a shoot. You know, and not everything worked out great that summer, but it’s a different kind of worry. But when they get older, you don’t have a child that’s just learning how to walk, or you’re in a place where there’s sharp corners, where every corner’s not padded, you know? It’s not not everyone thinks about kids when you go travel.

For you, you know what I mean? You have to bring that stuff.  Yeah, you do.  Yeah. And speaking of motherhood, I hear that we have something else in common. We can’t resist helping animals.  Oh my god. Yeah.  Yep.  Yeah.  We recently had a dog and a kitten on the show that were adoptable with one eyeball.

Yep, I’ve had one of those, too.  Mhm. It was lovely. They couldn’t stay in our house. We’re not allowed to have cats yet.  Mhm.  Um and  allowed to You’re You’re Your family HOA, or the the family, you know?  My husband.  That’s what I meant, not the family HOA. Yeah.  Is he allergic? Yes, but he’s also allergic to dogs, and we have two of those, so.

I’m saying. I was not a cat person until two adopted us, and I was like, oh, we’re not keeping these cats.  And now?  They They have been shipped, fixed. The entire garage is their playpen. They can come into one room of the house, you know? They They are every They’re awesome.  Yeah.  Yeah, they’re awesome.

for saying that. I will say they are also   They treat you  dicks.  They’re like total dicks, but I love that.  It’s great.  I’m so needy for their attention, and when they give it, I’m like  It’s like my toddler.  I’m so special. I know.  It’s literally my children. Yeah, they’re like, get away from me.

Now is not the time. And I’m like, just love me.  I know, just love on me. And when they stop holding your hand, like I reached over Like the rule now is with Lou, I said, you got to hold my hand when no one else is around, and we’re just walking, you got to hold it. I said, I also have to make sure you know how to hold a hand.

You’re not like limp, you know, like  Yeah.  It’s like it like they don’t really want to hold it anymore.  Mhm. I can’t.  Every so often my three-year-old will hit me with that. Not right now. And I’m like But we’re walking together.  But we’re  walking. But they want independence, especially at three.

It’s like  she’s she’s busy. She’s living  She’s with the pearls, right?  Yeah.  All right, that’s Queen Elizabeth.  That’s not Betty White. Betty loved to hold hands. That’s Queen Elizabeth.  she’s every so often recently she’ll literally be like, not right now. And I’m like Maybe now?  I love this kid.

She’s See, I love this distant child and animal that I really have to go after and beg for attention from.  Yeah.  I need to meet her.  No. I do have a question for you about animals. You had a two-legged dog named Ruby.  Rub- Rubertella Versace. Cuz she walked like she was on the runway. There was Rub- Rubertella and there was Poppy.

Poppy was a three-legged, my ride or die.  They were together. They were a pair.  And what types of dogs were they?  Ruby was an apple head Chihuahua, which oddly gets inbred a lot and they are born with these sort of thalidomide-like flippers in the front and they’re thrown away. She was found in a trash can. So, she was a part of a litter that someone had chucked away.

Someone found her.  And I’m assuming she got a wheelchair.  She No. This was before the rage of the She walked she her tail had this it was it was her kickstand. And so, she’d sit down she’s like And mental she’d sit she Her ass was ridiculous.  Okay. She could go up the stairs. But then we would if we couldn’t find Ruby, we would just wait and we’d go, “Ruby.

” And we just have to call her. We knew she was stuck on a stair somewhere cuz she couldn’t go down. So, she’d do a little peep and we’d go find Rubes. She was unbelievable. She she had to poop while she walked. I mean, you think you’re having a bad day, you try pooping and    You try pulling a Ruby  We try pooping and walking.

We actually have a clip of Ruby here.  Yeah. Um I purposely didn’t watch this ahead of time.  Look at her. Look at her. She’s peeing here. Look at her peeing.  Are you kidding?  Well, watch this. She finds her runway. Hold on a minute. She finds her runway. Hold on. Wait. Wait, she’s got to finish. She’s still got She’s still peeing.

Are you kidding?  up. Look at the tail. There’s like a little muscle in there that’s like a kickstand. And then she backs it up and hits the runway. And Rubertella, look at her. Look at that runway walk.  Oh.  She’s perfect. And we got We did find a little little [snorts] car she didn’t like it. She didn’t like it.

Because she’s perfectly able because she was  She can do it.  She was  Walk.  That’s incredible.  Yeah, her and the three-legger. I mean, people were just like It’s like, I don’t know. Don’t ask. The last thing I have for you is I like to ask for advice from our guests. Specifically, moms I love to ask.

Do you have a go-to piece of mom advice for any moms out there? Or the best piece of advice that you’ve ever received.  I think you know what? Moms know so much before anybody even has to tell them something. Every kid is different. Every single kid. I listen to everyone. I ask advice. I look at how my friends do it, you know, but no one’s kids are going to be like your kids.

You know I don’t think enough women trust their intuition and what they internally know about their children and what’s right for their kids. I don’t think they trust it enough. They get the kids in the school system. They go, “Oh, well, I guess this is where they’re supposed to be.

” And you go, “My child doesn’t feel right here.” Trust it. Go find another school. You know what I mean? Like I want my kids to be I’ve made mistakes and I’m I’ll be the first out of the gate. Yeah, I thought I was doing the right thing, but you know what? It’s like if they’re happy, if they can self-soothe, if they’re good people, um you know, I said trust trust what you got here.

I think there’s something so valuable in what we have as women that we don’t give enough credit to and I think we need to start being better to ourselves in that department and really allowing that to to to make the rules because we know  We do inherently by being a woman and a mom.  That female intuition, that mother’s intuition, is the perfect segue into making sure that you check out Practical Magic 2 because what more about female intuition and your feelings  Yeah.

than checking that out, being part of the coven. Come on.  stop denying it.  Uh thank you so much.  Make sure you get your tickets to see Practical Magic 2 on Thursday, September 10th. I can’t wait. I’m so excited. Thank you so much for coming.  wait to see whose algorithm we pop into.  Right?    It’s not going to be a good one.

It’s not going to be a healthy one. Thank you so much for coming.  This was so much fun.  Sandra Bullock teased her upcoming appearance on Kylie Kelsey’s podcast, Not Going to Lie, by putting a millennial spin on her fan-favorite film. The Wednesday, September 2nd teaser showed the Oscar winner, 62, recreating the crowning ceremony from Miss Congeniality with Kelsey, 34, joining in with her own take on the joke.

In the 2000 comedy movie, Bullock’s Gracie Hart slot, Gracie Lou Freebush, is named runner-up in the Miss United States pageant and her close friend and Miss Rhode Island, Cheryl Heather Burns, is crowned the winner. But the undercover FBI special agent realizes a bomb is hidden in the tiara and begins to aggressively warn Cheryl to not put it on by miming the shape of the crown.

That doesn’t go according to plan and chaos ensues as Gracie tackles Cheryl for the crown in the iconic on-screen moment. In Kelsey’s clip, the overlay text reads, “Gracie Lou Freebush trying to warn Miss Rhode Island the crown is a BNB, but she’s a millennial.” As Bullock recreates the same miming trying to warn Kelsey. But Kelsey, unaware of Gracie’s warnings, cheerfully makes a peace sign in response.

Their miscommunication video is part of an ongoing social media trend in which younger workers flash a peace sign in response when their older employers make the two hand gesture to request two minutes or phone line two. Kelsey also paid homage to the movie in the post’s caption. She’s beauty and she’s grace. The post comes amid Bullock’s current Practical Magic 2 press tour.

At one of the first promotional events, Bullock briefly chatted about her time on the Miss Congeniality franchise. At the London premiere on August 26th, Bullock opened up with people about working with Dolly Parton on Miss Congeniality 2, Armed and Fabulous, and how the singer motivated Bullock to sleep in her tour bus instead of a production provided hotel room.

“I hated flying for the longest time, and I used to just take a tour bus everywhere, and I would sleep on the tour bus,” Bullock told People. “Parton came to Vegas, and she pulled her tour bus up next to mine. I think it was pink, of course, and I said, ‘Okay, so Miss Parton, we’ve got a hotel and room for you that’s massive.’ And she goes, ‘No, I’ll stay in the bus.

‘” Bullock asked Parton where she planned to do her hair and makeup. And she goes, “Oh, I’ll do it on the bus,” the actress recalled. Parton told Bullock she would also sleep on her bus, which prompted Bullock to reply, “Then I’m sleeping on the bus.” “So she and I slept side by side on the bus,” the Oscar winner said. Bullock shared her memories of the icon one day after Parton died following a brief battle with cancer at age 80.
