“Taylor’s a QUEEN!” Tom Cruise surprises Travis & Jason Kelce on New Heights

There’s always like somebody that comes up who’s done like some scientific research.  There’s always a scientific researcher who’s done the sleep.  Actually, your sircadian rhythms don’t get more affected if you’ve been there for 24 hours as opposed to you can find the science to say whatever the you want to do.

 That’s what it felt  like. That’s Well, he made it seem  I was going up to the suite halfway through like I know he’s up there. It’s such  dude. It’s the anthem in life, man.  There’s so many anthems around Tom and uh yeah, you guys are going to want to tune in. We got it coming out this Friday because he has a new movie coming out, Digger.

 We get into all of that as well as the rest of the history of his cinematic career as well as he’s just an incredible person.  No, we’re just shooting the  with him. That’s the thing  about Tom is you could just kind of hang with them and uh and get some cool insights because he’s so  fact you call him Tom is crazy to me.

 What do you call him Mr. Cruz?  I feel like when somebody gets that famous, you just call the person Tom Cruz. This is what you’re  I’m hanging out with Tom who Tom Cruz. You can’t just call him Tom.  This was what we had. We had to like uh break that habit uh of your daughter.  I was going to already say this.

 I don’t ever  When they got to meet Aunt Tay, they were calling her Taylor Swift.  Taylor Swift, can I do this?  Taylor Swift.  Yeah.  Adorable. Either way. Yeah,  you can call her Taylor. You don’t have to  say  It was definitely uh It was definitely Tom Cruz for the first two times, but then him coming to the game and us having a sit down right here.

 I mean, it’s that’s my guy, Tom, now. That’s my guy.  Well,  he’s the man. You guys are going to love the uh the sit down with him.  The sit down was great. I mean, being in the suite last night in Airhead was great. We’re gonna get to a little more of that coming up in the show.  I know.  So, let’s finish off new news.

 All right. Jake really milking this whole baby situation. Don’t know if all you 92enters saw online.  That baby’s undefeated, man.  It is technically an undefeated Jets baby for the first time in perhaps forever. We had some fans having some fun in the comments from chromagin dude or actually at 20 means speed.

 This is sick. Uh, can’t wait for the kindergarten pick of her when the Jets win their next game.   That ain’t right. That ain’t right. They didn’t deserve that.  That’s I mean, I love that. I think it’s accurate. Okay, we got another little photo here. Oh, this is just Jake holding his baby.

 Um,  Jake Chaty, the New York Jets are undefeated and my daughter’s lifetime 1 and0 baby. Okay, just Chris Christ.  Just Christ. Yeah,  just christm Christ. All right. and haven’t had an interception since before conception. It’s a good uh rhyming little rhyme time. Like that. Like that.

 Congratulations to Iris Chatsky for being undefeated. The first Jets undefeated baby in over a decade. Well done.  You go, girl.  We’ll see how long it lasts. I’m guessing one week, but hang on to it for as long as you can.  Good luck, Iris.  Did the NFL tweet something about Jake’s baby?  That was the photo you look at.

 All righty. Monday Night Football could not have started better. You get an interception from your rookie defensive back and then everybody’s wondering what kind of version we’re going to see Pat Mahomes and he let us know right away. I mean, that stadium was going insane from the interception to Pat Mahomes scrambling in a touchdown.

 There’s been some Oh, it was definitely a questionable play.   That’s one of those where you get up slowly like, “Please don’t be any laundry on the field.   Had the man up by his neck. Can’t do it. Can’t do it. Almost cost us.” And and to be honest, that would have been Pat Mahome’s second rushing touchdown called back in two plays cuz he literally did the same thing.

 First one was a touchdown, but he was like using his legs to Yeah. Which uh and that would have like taken us out of the red zone. That was  Yeah. No, that would have been a real bad.  That was risky business right there, boys. Um No, but uh you know what, sometimes you just live right.  Either way, it was an awesome play and it was a great tone setter for the game.

 So, what are your initial thoughts? There were some other tone setters. What were the big takeaways for you? My initial thoughts were um you know this has been this has been brewing for a while. Yeah. And in the building everybody knows what I’m talking about. From the start of the off season into training camp, the mentality we’ve had to fix the things that we needed to fix to to clean up a lot of the small things to really reinvent the culture of how we do things in Kansas City.

 We feel like we got a great team and this team loves each other, man. And that’s that’s one of the biggest things, man. when you get a a group of men that that want to that have one goal in mind and want to attack that goal every single day uh for the for the betterment of the the guy next to him. Um it’s a special feeling, man.

And uh and I just I absolutely love this team and um you could tell how much we loved each other out there on that field last night. And damn, it was fun to be out there in Arrowhead, man. arrow when Arrowhead’s rocking like that on a Monday night. Um, you know, it’s a it’s a feeling that, you know, I I don’t ever want to, you know, stop feeling and that’s what that’s what keeps me coming back and playing every single every single year.

 And, uh, that’s what gets me excited uh throughout the uh throughout the work week. We got another big one coming up on a Sunday night this week. But, uh, that was a fun one, man. and to to see Patty Mahomes go through what he went through in terms of rehab and saw the determination from him the the second he had that surgery on on uh on just how he was going to attack this.

Um when your leaders are doing that that kind of stuff, man, you just you you fall in line and you and you it’s infectious. Yeah.  You know, it’s an infectious thing. And uh I couldn’t be more proud of him on how he came out and just was his uh his his you know old Texas gunslinger self out there just having some fun playing football and uh and lead us leading us into victory.

 And then uh you can’t say enough about what Kenneth Walker  Yeah. That’s the big  is and and and what he’s going to be for this this team and this organization and this city, man. He’s one of the He’s one of those Kansas City guys, and you guys that in Kansas City that don’t know him yet, to the core of who that guy is, he’s he’s an A1 person.

 He’s got great character. He’s got great uh you know, attention to detail. He has he has great integrity. Um and and who he is is what you see on that field. And everybody loves playing with him, man. Even everybody in Seattle that I’ve talked to about him says the exact same things. And uh and we’re lucky to have him, man.

But it was a it was a complete showing. Our defense came out, got the interception early. Uh Delane unfortunately got injured on that play, but at the same time, what what a unbelievable way to start start your career.  One target, one interception.  There you go. Our Mason, another young guy, got a sack.

 Um defense was flying around. Spags was in his bag in terms of pulling out the blitzes and and the coverages to, you know, to have Bo Knicks and that offense just not in sync. And it was an allaround uh great game for us. And um we know all of them aren’t going to be like that. You know, it it’s the NFL now, but at the same time, for us to have an entire off seasonason and to come out uh week one and and and put it all together like that, man, it was a fun one.

 Yeah. Well, speaking of putting it all together, the one guy that put it all together very well is Kenneth Walker. I think that was a big surprise, I think, to everybody was that debut.  23 carries, 173 rushing yards, 191 yards total, two touchdowns. He might have had over a hundred yards after contact.

 Yeah, I’m pretty sure he did.  I That was the And Denver is a like one of the best defenses in the NFL. They have players across that entire front and the back end. Their linebackers are great. They’re well coached by Vance Joseph  and they they’re typically in sync, man. They play well together.  He was running through any little arm tackle, legitimate tackle.

 Like I don’t think I saw him brought down maybe one time by the first guy that touched.  I know.  It was impressive. hand the ball to nine. I’ve been saying that  all summer, man.  Well, and to Andy’s credit, like listen, this was a completely reinvented version of the Kansas City Chiefs week one. Like, what it has been shotgun, RPO, like spread, air attack.

 Like, that’s what it’s been for the last seven years since Pat’s been there. All of a sudden, under center, multiple tight ends, you guys are are pulling people. You and this was my big thing before the game. It’s like, all right, yeah, Denver’s good. Andy when he has time to develop a game plan for a specific opponent, whether it’s after a by-week or starting a season, there’s going to be some things dialed up.

 And whether it’s him, whether it’s Benemy coming with from things he learned with Ben Johnson, I thought the offense was very creative, very innovative.  And that’s the thing, you have to you have to keep in inventing things and being, you know, the this is a league where you will get schemed up in a heartbeat if you’re not reinventing how you’re attacking, how you’re playing the game. Yeah.

 And coach Reed knows that, man. And we got we got a special skill set right now on the offensive side that that we can really exploit a lot of different like exploited defense in a lot of different ways. We have downfield speed. We have guys in the back field that can run the game. Everybody was impressed by Kenneth Walker, but Emtt Johnson came in there and and and had a bunch of really good plays.

 I think together those two by themselves had over like 200 yards of or 220 230 yards of offense.  Offense. Yeah,  it might have been 250. We got a great back field. We got a great tight end room. We’re grabbing the our guy uh Tonga from the Dline to come in and play the first fourth down.  Come on now, baby. In in our in on on our side of the 50, we have pieces to attack defenses and uh yeah,  in in in unique ways and we feel like we can really have a complete game plan because of the pieces that we got.

 We talked about that fourth down Andy going for it on your own 50 yardd line on your side of the ball. Like Andy’s aggressive. The defense with spags. They’re blitzing. That was a uh I it felt like you guys were going out there to try and make a statement and it was well executed on all fronts.  I hear you on the statement.

 The the game felt like a statement because we just wanted to go out there and win that game. You know what I mean? Like we were we were tentative. We were we played with a sense of urgency and uh and you know, we played together. We played together. We got a rookie left tackle and he played absolutely  outstanding.

 The offensive line played great. gave gave55 an opportunity to get the ball into the playmakaker’s hands as well as getting downhill with uh with the running running running game. If we can keep just, you know, looking out for each other, playing together, um and making plays when when given, man, uh you know, it’s uh it’s going to be a fun year for this offense, man.

 I can feel it.  Well, if there’s one thing Andy does really well, it’s getting athletic playmakers the ball in space and find ways to make creative uh opportunities for him. And he did that with Ken Kenneth Walker. Kenneth Walker. Last year, the Chiefs only had one explosive run of more than 20 yards all season.  Walker already has two in the first week. Damn.

 And not to mention, he outgainained the entire Broncos team.   It’s a good debut.  Give nine the ball.  Pat is also back. 15 for 27. It wasn’t a crazy day for Pat Mahomes, but it didn’t need to be. He did what he needed to do, that’s for sure. 207 total yards, three touchdowns, including a rushing touchdown, trickeration touchdown.

 Yeah, I mean, we knew Andy was gonna have some things dialed up.  Pretty cool. Did you hear Did you hear his uh response to what that uh the play you’re talking about, the touchdown to Kenneth was  is uh I think it was the 1930s. Chris Burman uh sent it to him.  No,  it might not have been the 30s, but either way, Chris Burman sent him the clip of it and we watched it and  my mind and it’s so funny watching these old like black and white like  film of like uh this this like beginning stages of football. Is that everyone?

Yeah. No,  everybody is the same size.  Just like there’s no fat boys out there. Just everybody’s like 6′ 210 lbs.   And the the thing just absolutely opened up similar to how it did on this one. I was just like, man, that’d be really sweet if I could come flying around there with no hold. Yeah, exactly.

Nobody knew where the ball was.  Well, you broke another tight end record. And this is not a bungee record. This is not a Buns record. It’s not a record.  You’re going into second place all time.  Second place. That’s not a record.  Well, you broke you broke Jason Whitten’s record.  I will say this.

 I  I grew up in an era where I saw guys like Tony Gonzalez, Shannon Sharp,  Shocki,  Shocki. Um, and then  Dallas Clark.  Dallas Clark. Come on now. Keep them coming, baby.  All the tight end you guys.  And there there was a certain way that they played the game.  Yeah. that you just love as a football player.

 They had the toughness, they had the the savviness in the in the pass game. Um, and then on top of that, man, um, I had no idea that moving to tight end, I would find that much more love for the game.  I get to do a whole lot more, um, in terms of just being a football player at the tight end position. And, uh, when I moved to tight end, guys like Jason Whitten were at the helm.

 Yeah. And so I’m looking at who are the best in in the world at doing this right now. Tony Gonzalez was there. Jason Whitten was right there. Grank was right there. Yeah. And I’m looking at these guys and I’m like,  man, how do I get to that level?  Yeah.  So to be in the same talks as these guys at this point in my career, Jason, it’s an absolute honor to be in the same conversation as you.

 Um and uh I’ll have to just play another five years to catch Tony.  Well, yeah, you do have a ways to go to catch Tony. Yeah. Tony G has the record of 15,127. Travis broke Whitten’s record of 13,046 yards and now has 13,67 yards. And you broke it on your biggest play of the day, a 59 yard catch um in the third quarter. Walk us through the play.

 What happened?  I mean, coverage,  heavy blitz. Yeah, it was cover zero.  Was it zero? I knew it was blitz. I think you’re right. Somebody said it was zero online, so I’m pretty sure you’re right. Yeah, it’s cover zero. Um, heavy inside leverage. I got a route where  outbreaker.  Yeah.

 And it’s like kind of like a fake inside come out. It’s called a whip route. I can talk about it now because it was it’s all over the internet. But  yeah. Will you when you when you go in there, you see it happening.  Are you like, “Oh, this ball.” Yeah. I’m like, I got to quicken this up. Patty Mahome’s going to be one, two, three, bang.

 Yes.  At least that’s what I’m hoping.  Yeah. No, it was uh it was a play where you just got to be uh you got to be ready for the QB knowing that it’s blitz. You know what I mean? It’s like, you know, uh  you know he’s going to be hot. He’s going to have to get the ball out.  He’s going to have to get the ball out quick.

 And uh and then on top of that, manto man coverage. When you catch the ball, you make one man miss.  A lot of grass.  We’re going down the slip and slide.  You were kind OF LIKE  you were like weaving.  That was  is what I was doing.  I just got pick a side. Pick a side and run. Uh, I got the cavalry out in front of me.

 Taquan was out there working. I know people are talking about a hold. I don’t think that’s hold up the entire time. Was driving his feet.  I don’t want to hear none of that. You can talk about yours, but   Well, technically I didn’t grab anything. I just kind of hugged him.  Yeah. Yeah.  Yeah.

 Yeah. I did text Troy when that happened because Troy said on the broadcast like, “Think this is a hold by Kelse. I missed this one.” I was like, “Hands are inside. Hands are inside.” He’s like He texted back. Yeah. No. Russell didn’t think so. our expert over here at ESPN didn’t called them out on it.  You can always tell a lot about teams and how the guys start finding work when it’s not their job, right? Like they they’re just playing ball.

 That’s got to be the MO, man. That’s got to be the MO. I think uh I’m always working to be better at that as well as, you know, everybody on the Chiefs, man. But when you got guys fighting for, you know, your brother’s extra extra gains and those extra first downs or those big plays, um, that shit’s fun, man.

 Yeah,  it’s a fun ride, man.  Well, it was fun for the rookies. Rookies, we already talked about it had a pretty good showing for the Chiefs. Mansour Delane had an interception in one play or two plays, I guess. It was the third third play of the game.  Third play.  Third third down. Yeah. First play thrown at him, one target, one interception, one shoulder injury.

 We’ll see how he does next week, but hell of a start for him. Edge player Arm Mason Thomas got in on a sack early. Had a couple other pressures. Peter Woods got the pressure. Peter was in there clogging up the middle in that run game, doing his thing, and then trying to get to the QB in the pass game.  It Listen, man.

 The Dline, we we’ve got some young guys that can absolutely ball, man. And they they built a lot of that confidence and a lot of that, you know, uh that passion in college. and to be able to step into a a defense that like Spags where you’re going to get opportunities to get those matchups that favor that you that favor your skill set.

 Um you know that these guys are out there, you know, excited at getting after it, man.  Yeah. The other rookie that we uh we already mentioned once was Khalil Benson, obviously starting playing a really good defensive line in general, but great player in Nick Bonito. Uh held his own, didn’t allow a single pressure. Now Chiefs are helping him out quite a bit, right? got some chip help, but did some really good things in the run game.

I I like what the kid can do.  Come on now, baby.  Yeah, he he had a good showing.  Will play, man.  Spags is the one thing that I wish, you know, there’s a lot of new guys in place on defense, but I we got to give some love to Spags for what he did throughout the game plan and blitzing, simulated pressures, mixing it up, keeping the Denver Broncos kind of on edge about what they were seeing.

 And you know, coming into the game, it’s like, how are all these young guys going to do? You know, what’s this defense going to look like? And it still looked pretty.  Yeah, man. It was around, man.  Spags has been in his bag for the last three years. And uh picking up right where he left off, man. It was good to see from the defense, for sure.

 You know it. And we’re uh and we’re off to Sunday Night Football. We were playing a little Monday Night Football. Now we got a LITTLE SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL.  INDIANAPOLIS COLTS, WHAT ARE YOU THINKING? OH, YOU’RE READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL.  SHANE STIKEN.  YEAH. Uh  Daniel Jones.  I haven’t I haven’t peeked at him other than just watching that uh that Ravens game last week.

 Um know they’re they’re going to be hungry.  Um you know, it’s uh it’s a team with a great defensive line. I know that for a fact. Yeah. Got some got some players in the Yep. Lose, you know, had our number in a few games we played him. Man, he’s unbelievable. I don’t know how the hell he got out of Cincinnati, but um you know, Indianapolis has a great coach in in him.

 And on top of that, they got some great players on the back end. Obviously, a friend of the show, S Gardner, Cincinnati Bearcat.  Shout out.  And I think Danny Dimes is a is a good player, man. It’s uh obviously he showed a lot from last year. Um and uh we’re definitely going to, you know, be in for it because everybody’s going to get excited for a little Sunday Night Football.

 Man,  I mean, just look at the way the team dropped off when Danny got hurt, right? They were rolling. They were looking really good in the AFC up until that moment. Then all of a sudden it was a tough ending. Philip Rivers came in out of retirement, had a a great showing. Loved watching that. But Danny being healthy, this team, this Colts team is good.

 I know they didn’t win week one because Baltimore looks like a super team right now. But um you know, they’re going to be fired up coming into Arrowhead for this one for sure. Well, Trav, Andy called you old.  That’s just because everybody else is calling me old.  Well,  he did have  Andy sees these glutes. It’s all about the glutes.

 It’s all about the glutes, baby.  Keep them glutes firing.  Andery Reed quoted as saying,  “Three for 71 yards are pretty good for an old man.”  I’ll have to keep surprising him with my my youthfulness.  Yeah. Yeah. Just How do you keep How do you make somebody think you’re younger than you are? What’s the key to that?  Um,  dye your hair.

 I was going to say get a haircut. Maybe  dye your hair.  I felt like after I got a haircut by old Patty Cuts this weekend that I I went back in time.  Maybe I got hair. What do young kids wear now? What do What are all the young guys doing?  All the young guys, what are they wearing? They’re wearing the uh h the Marne slippers.

 You see those Marne slippers is like uh slippers talking about. Yeah. Yeah.  Everybody’s wearing slippers and the and the house shoes. House. I don’t know how house shoes became so popular outside the house.  It’s pretty crazy.  You start playing the game where you like point your finger and then  Oh, shadow boxing.

 You are You ready?  I I’ve never done it. I have no interest in doing it.   I’m embracing my old man status. Have you played it? No, not that I’m I I’ll watch it. It’s entertaining. It is. It’s actually kind of crazy how in sync and how quickly  I was 10 years younger. I might be into this, but I’m not.

 So, I’m not doing I miss the way  I miss the intro level and now they’re at such a  This is happening too fast. Yeah.  Yeah.  Uh it’s a young man’s game.   Yeah. Yeah.  Travis Kelsey is offering new insight into his wife Taylor Swift’s dynamic with his four young nieces. We had to break that habit with your daughters.

Travis, 36, told brother Jason Kelsey on the Wednesday, September 16th episode of their New Heights podcast after the pair joked that it felt wrong to call upcoming podcast guest Tom Cruz by anything other than his full name. When they got to meet Ante, they were calling her Taylor Swift.

 Travis began dating Swift, 36, in 2023, eventually introducing his nieces to the pop star. Jason and his wife, Kylie Kelsey, have four daughters, Wyatt, six, Ellie, five, Bennett, three, and Finn, 17 months. Jason, 38, further explained that whenever his kids addressed Swift or asked her questions, they would say both her first and last name.

 It was adorable. Travis quipped, noting that Jason’s kids have since gotten more casual with the Grammy winner like he has with Cruz 64. It was definitely Tom Cruz the first two times, but then coming to the game and us sitting down right here on the podcast, That’s my guy, Tom. Before Travis and Jason interviewed Cruz, the conversation drops Friday, September 18th.

 The Mission Impossible star sat beside Swift to watch Travis and the Kansas City Chiefs in their home opener on Monday, September 14th. Cruz previously attended Swift’s era’s tour in London and was present when she married Travis at Madison Square Garden in July. Being in the suite with him was great, Jason added of the game day meetup.

 All eyes were on Taylor Swift when she watched her new husband Travis Kelce’s football team, the Kansas City Chiefs, beat the Denver Broncos on Monday evening. Swift must have felt the attention as she reportedly fiddled with her wedding rings while in the VIP suite of Arrowhead Stadium next to Travis brother and mother as well as superstar Tom Cruz.

 The singer was caught looking down at then spinning her rings in a video shared by a fan account on Instagram. Women usually play with their wedding rings as a form of self soothing behavior to calm stress, release nervous energy, or manage anxiety. According to Psychology Today, Kelsey presented Swift with a vintage inspired engagement ring from jeweler Kindred Lubec of Artifacts Fine Jewelry when he proposed last year.

The ring featured a large old mine brilliant cut diamond set on a custom engraved yellow gold band. The rock is approximately 10 karat. When they wed in early July, he added a band to her ring finger. Meanwhile, Swift’s conversation with Cruz seemed intense. Television viewers were understandably curious about the topic of conversation between the veteran actor and pop singer after they were pictured by ESPN.

 Nicola Hickling, an expert analyst and professional lipreer, was able to reveal to the Daily Mail what was said between the pop sensation and the Hollywood star. It’s the structure of the entire infrastructure of the audience. That’s what I love in a positive way,” Swift said, according to Hickling, the founder of Lipreader.

 Although the first part of Cruz’s response was lost as ESPN switched cameras, Hickling was able to pick up on the actor’s words a moment later. “You may not know it, but you do have a job,” he said. Swift appeared to agree and quickly placed her drink down while nodding and saying, “Right. I told her to stick to one and that it’s the last time. Cruz followed.

 Once again, Swift gave another nod of approval. The identity of one unnamed woman remains a mystery, but Swift and Cruz appear to be enjoying a rather professional conversation. Yes, oh my god. The proud Swift is seen saying. She was also seen saying, “Come on, come on, come on.” as she placed her hands on her hips.
