Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce may be used to having cameras follow their every move, but their newest neighbors in Cleveland say life could be very different when the couple is at their Ohio home.
The newly married stars have acquired a $5.35 million lakefront estate in Bratenahl, an affluent village just east of Cleveland. The roughly 21,000 square-foot property sits on 3.5 acres along Lake Erie and is close to Kelce’s hometown of Cleveland Heights. He reportedly closed on the house in March, several months before he and Swift tied the knot in New York.
Despite the enormous attention surrounding the couple, residents insist they won’t turn their neighborhood into a tourist attraction. An area source told Page Six that Swift and Kelce should be able to enjoy a level of privacy that’s unusual for celebrities of their stature. The community has apparently had plenty of practice.
LeBron James lived in the area during his Cleveland Cavaliers career, and locals reportedly left the basketball superstar alone. That history has helped establish a culture where famous residents can live alongside their neighbors without constantly being treated like public attractions. That doesn’t mean Bratenahl residents aren’t curious.
Some are already imagining the possibility of spotting Swift at the nearby Shoreby Club, a private waterfront club that plays an important role in village social life. There’s excitement about having one of the world’s biggest pop stars as a neighbor, but residents appear to understand that curiosity has limits. A private retreat with plenty of celebrity history.
Another question locals have is how often Swift and Kelce will actually stay at the property. Both stars own other homes, and their demanding careers require extensive travel. Still, the estate could become an attractive gathering place if they decide to spend more time in Ohio. The historic house, originally built around 1895, has undergone extensive renovations.
It features eight bedrooms and 11 bathrooms, along with a heated pool, home theater, game room, billiards area, fitness facilities, sauna, and wine cellar. A converted gatehouse provides a separate two-bedroom guest cottage. The original ballroom has also been transformed into entertainment space. The property’s location could be another major draw.
Burke Lakefront Airport is only a short drive away and is commonly used by private aircraft, making it considerably easier for the couple to come and go without attracting attention at a busy commercial airport. Bratenahl is no stranger to famous names. Cleveland Browns owners Jimmy and Dee Haslam live nearby, while Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson previously had ties to the community.
The village’s combination of lakefront estates, established residence, and proximity to Cleveland offers an unusual mix of luxury and discretion. That may ultimately be the biggest attraction for Swift and Kelce. Their new neighbors might love the idea of seeing them around town, but they seem equally committed to letting the couple close the front door and enjoy their home without an audience.
