 “I would enjoy watching that.” Kendra looked at the plans [music] one more time. “All right.” Harrison became still. “Does that mean yes?” “It means [music] I will do it.” Celeste clapped her hands. Harrison smiled, but Kendra pointed at him. “Do not look too happy. I have many rules. >> [music] >> I expected that.

 And I am accepting because the center will help people. I know. Not because you are rich. I know that, too.” Six months later, [music] the doors of Strong Hands Community Center opened for the first time. Kendra had chosen the name because she believed Strong Hands should protect, guide, and lift people. >> [music] >> The building was bright and full of life.

 Children played safely while their parents trained. >> [music] >> Older women stretched near the windows. Young girls practiced safety moves with Rachel. Martin had changed the rules at his gym and now sent trainers [music] to help at the center twice a week. He had kept his promise to protect his workers. Celeste walked through the building as if she owned it.

 Kendra caught her moving chairs. “You are supposed [music] to be resting.” “I moved one chair.” “You moved four.” “Who told you?” “Everyone tells me everything.” Harrison entered from the main door. [music] Celeste pointed at him. “Your son is here. Tell him to stop me.” Kendra looked [music] at Harrison. “Can you stop her?” “No.” “Then you are useless.

” “I brought food.” “You are useful again.” [music] Celeste walked away laughing. That evening, after the last family left, Kendra stood [music] near the front window.
